Good morning everybody!
(((((hugs))))))) and good wishes to all the poorly ones, with especial hopes that N9eav's daughter gets out of hospital soon. Poor love must be going stir-crazy on that ward. Is there really nowhere else for her to be?
Snowy hope that w*rk isn't too bad, I'm so glad I don't have to go!! It really is lovely having you open the thread:D
I've spent the past few days trying to see my Dad through the first anniversary of my Mum's death. Been really hard, not much success at allHe lives 200 miles away from me which doesn't help, they retired down to Devon some years ago. Anyway only got back yesterday, and now he's phoned this morning in tears and panic because he's had a letter from the revenue saying he owes them well over £600 in tax:eek:  That means I have to get the train down tomorrow to try and sort it out. Impossible to get anything straight with him on the phone. I'll have over 10 hours travelling, and be £80 lighter by the time I pay for the ticket and then taxis to and from the station to his house!!! (No public transport!) Bang goes this weeks budget, no make it this month's! Oh well, worse things happen at sea, as my Mum used to say but I do find that 15 hour day really exhausting.
It's a beautifull day here so as this weeks plans have already gone to pot I'm going to go and do some gardening:D
Crazychik my thanks button often plays up. I find I have to go through the thread two or three times to confuse it into submission:rotfl: :rotfl:
Well, hope you all have the days you want,
take care, CMxx
edited to say, ((((hugs))) Essex girl, sorry to hear of your accident. That sounds awful!! Hope it heals soon. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning all!
Big hugs to Miss N9eav, Mrs-Mix, Mr Penny-Pincher, Essex-girl, and everyone else I've forgotten!
Back to w**k today after 2 days off last week (1 holiday, 1 very s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d interview)
Have a mock exam tonight for my safety course, so as the boss is out... head in the books today.
Interview on Friday seemed to go well, many thanks to those who were wishing me well. They seemed to want someone with experience in their industry, but where I live that's not likely, so hopefully they'll settle for someone with experience in a similar industry and lots of enthusiasm!!
Haven't read the weekend threads yet, off to do that over a coffee, big hugs to anyone who had a pants weekend.
Love and hugs,
PG xx0 -
Took 50 mins to get through to the surgery:mad: ...anyway OH has an appointment for 10.10am...so not too bad.

Morning All
Gosh my MSE is on real go slow today:mad:
What a lovely day, might get to plant my seedlings out soon although I saw lots of nieghbours out scraping ice off their car so must be cold still.
Have taken to boys to school and have a day of housework and cooking to get on with after a majorly busy week last week and letting it all slip.
I'm going to apologise in advance as I still don't remember peoples names but wanted to have a go at replying to posts.
Penny-pincher-your probs with your DH health is so familiar, mine has pluresy ( spelling ?) again as he lets the chest infections he gets get too far to do anything, on a plus side they have given him a really strong dose of steroids this time which has left him feeling 'fantastic' which is something that he hasn't said in years. But I feel the nights sitting up with him watching him have one asthma attack after another will be around to stay. At least when they get to doctors they are able to do something for them so good luck today.
Yes I watched Fallen Angel last night-wow ! although I was hiding behind my cushion on a few occasions ! Poor Eddie !
What a great idea to have an aerobics class before school ! I go running in the morning-and I am so not a morning person ! It helps kick start my day, our primary school does a running club in the mornings but they have to be year 5 or 6 which mine aren't yet. Something at the school tho would be great, maybe thats something I could look into doing ?!
We had a very exciting saturday visiting the Greenpeace Ship Arctic Sunrise in East London. Kids had a fab time on board and where very grown up when it came to listening all about whaling and sealing, at 7 & 4 I wasn't sure if they where a bit little for it but they seem to have understood the principles.
Anyway, have a lovely monday. looby:A0 -
Morning all :hello:
There seem to be LOADS of you sick or injured today... ((((((hugs)))))) to the lot of you.
Hugs to tired mum too - hope you and OH get this sorted a.s.a.p.
Well I overslept drastically this morning and explained my lateness to my boss through some what I can only call "constructive honesty" :shhh: - I sent him a text saying "I have had to pick up a special delivery package from the depot..." (true, just not today) "...and am now in Camberwell waiting for the bus into work" (true, just the bus from home rather then the one from near the depot)
Yesterday I had an afternoon of cooking - batch of macaroni cheese, batch of yellow pepper soup, batch of leek and potato soup - and a relaxing evening on the sofa with a bottle of wine.
I also had a reasonably thorough tidy up of my flat, as I had the threat of one of my neighbours dropping in later- although she didn't end up coming, it had at least given me the incentive to tidy up! However I think all my efforts are about to go to pot  as I have had a text from my mum saying she wants to give my all my childhood stuff that is still in her loft (she is planning to move house later in the year now that she has an empty nest - she's moving to the South East which is good as I will see more of her, but she currently has a 5-bed house and will be moving into a 2-bed!) I have been wanting my childhood book collection back for ages, but I suspect there will also be several boxes of soft toys  which I will have to overcome sentimental value to get rid of
Today I will be finishing off a report at work, and seeing whether I can get myself a (discounted) ticket for a show this evening.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Morning all:D
Hugs to those who need it, sometimes Mondays are not the positive start for the week we would like.
I worked all weekend, managed to have a lovely walk with hubby and kids on Sunday, the weather was just so glorious. Today I have lots of little things to sort out from bill paying to posting parcels, after this third cup of tea I should be ready... Amazon sales are a bit slow at the moment, need to get some more stock therefore visits to charity shops ( for books) is called for. We have a slow leak on one of our car tyres... grrr:mad: , need to buy a new tyre which messes up nicely my budget for this month.
Oh well, off I go now and wishing you all a very good daySSB0 -
Morning All,
Hugs to all with poorly DH's, wrists, arthritis .....
It is such a beautiful day here, yesterday was lovely too and luckily it was the day we did our fencing. DH ended up having to hire a pneumatic drill to dig out the concrete from the old posts!!! He dug out all my flower beds etc so all my daffodils met an early end but it had to be done. The beds are totally empty now apart from my enormous rosemary, waiting to be planted with the lavender plants I have started off. It should look wonderful once done, he'll repaint the front door and step too this week.
Then we need to start on the back.....
I have a horrid sore throat which has been coming and going for a week. Typically I have choir tonight and as I missed last week I shall just bite the bullet and go so will probably have no voice tommorrow, DH and the kids will be happy!!!
Anyway, must crack on, lots to do.
Take Care all.

Hi everyone, I don't normally post on the daily thread (always just have a bit of a nose at what you're up to!) but have a bit more time at the moment (work is slow), so thought I would join in if that's ok?
Hmm.. All that and now nothing exciting to say! Had a busy weekend and didn't get much time to clean the house, now feel a bit chaotic and won't get a chance to do it tonight. Oh well, will fit it in somewhere.
Going for a long walk tonight with some friends, looking forward to fresh air and seeing all the signs of spring. Then they are all coming back for dinner, should be a really nice evening.
Hope everyone has a good Monday. Sending good wishes to you all x x x0 -
Good Morning,
Snowy, (((hugs))) I know how you feel, I've just had a long weekend and woke up this morning dreading the thought of going back to work tomorrow!!
((((Essex-girl)))) your wrist sounds really painfull! Poor you, I hope you are feeling better soon.
Tired mum I hope you get that situation sorted quickly. It sounds like one of those awful gut-wrenching situations that it would feel much easier to back away from, but don't, Keep fighting girl (((hugs)))
Hugs also to Mr Penny Pincher and N9eave's daughter and to everyone else not feeling great today.
It is such a beautiful day here that I'm off for a long walk around what will be the 2012 olympic site. I want to see all the backwaters before the reconstruction starts, some parts of it have such a wonderful, wild, natural beauty. I really hope they don't spoil them by taming them into submission.
There is really nothing wrong with the odd derelict building, they provide homes for thousands and when trees and plants take them over they become something much nicer than they appear to be at first glance. The quiet waterways are so very, very peaceful and full of wildlife.... Where will the kingfishers live if things are tidied up too much
Edited to add, Welcome Reverie
