Are you trying to connect wirelesly or by cable?
For starters, try restarting your modem / router.'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

sorry its a wired network( not too sure if its a network yet though) i have 3 comps one wireless and two wired out of a wireless router
one of the wired comps doesnt connect to the internet
i am trying to connect wired
i try to repair it by right clicking on the connection0 -
Has it worked in the past and now stopped or never worked?
Sometimes resetting / restarting a router can give it a kick start and find / issue the relevant IP address'.
If you log into the router setup program / page there should be an option to restart it. You should also be able to look at the allocated IP addresses for all computers on the network.'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

if you go to start and run and type cmd on one of the computers that does work
then type ipconfig in the dos window that comes up - copy n paste what it says here0 -
connection specific dns suffix:
auto configuration ip address :192.254.41.93
subnet mask:255.255.0.0
default gateway:0 -
ok thats a little strange - whats the other computer say when you do it?0
-
connection specific dns suffix:
ip address:192.168.0.33
subnet mask:255.255.0.0
default gateway:192.168.0.1
from wireless laptop0 -
ok if you go to the computer thats not working
click start/control panel/network connections
right click on the connection you want to use and select properties a box should pop up and in the scroll pane there should be a choice tcp/ip - highlight that and click the properties button.
Another box should pop up in that fill in these details
192,168.0.50
255.255.0.0
192.168.0.1
192.168.0.1
you can leave the second dns server blank0 -
tried that still no connection
gonna reboot comp see if that works
thanks0
