Well done to everyone who completed the previous challenges :j, and a warm welcome to all newcomers! (if I forget to put you on the first page list - nag at me until I do :rotfl:, oh and you don't have to let anyone know your starting weight unless you really want to!)
Here goes for another half stone challenge! Don't think of how much you'd like/need to lose, just focus on losing those 7lbs for June! See, it doesn't seem so bad, does it
This is a useful site for tracking your weight, food etc
http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/account/index.php or some people like http://www.myfitnesspal.com/
You set up your own target by inputting weight, height, how active your lifestyle is, and any medical conditions. Then each day you keep a food diary by inputting what you eat, and also an activity log. The site works out your calories for input (food) and output (activity). The idea is that you keep the input between 500 and 1000 cals below the output, but without dropping below the minimum food cals set by the site for your lifestyle etc. And best of all the calorie count site is free!
If you're interested sign up here and lets help each other :T

Hello dragon and other friends...can I creep back into this thread?:embarasse: I have been away for a month or so..not literally but off the diet wagon for sure. I lost a stone from September to December and then progress became painfully slow. In alight bulb moment I sort of realised that I had to stop saying to myself, just this once won't matter because it did:o
Anyway in the last few weekends with the nice weather and everyone else in my family occupied I have been going on 10 or 11 mile walks. The countryside is beautiful and I find it quite de-stressing. It also means I can afford to have a nice meal on Saturday which makes me feel like I am not missing out.
Start weight for June 137lb. I will try and post regularly again as I want to be at least 134lb before my summer holiday. However my computer currently has the blue screen of death and won't turn on so it may not be as regular as I would like.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -

I just thought I'd pop in and say hello to everyone that may remember me. I've not been here for many months, I became addicted to MFP and spend alot of time there now instead.
A quick update. I made it down to healthy BMI weight a couple of months ago, smashed through the 10 stone new goal and am now down to 9 1/2 stone. It's been nearly a year. I've lost 8 stone and am now starting the new battle of maintenance. Just wanted to say Good Luck to everyone, you can do it!! It's definitely worth all the had workSmashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j0 -
I've been battling with my weight since my mid 30's when depression and joint pain were my excuse for dropping a fit and active lifestyle :-(.
I managed to "manage" the depression started back on the exercise and calorie logging wagon - feeling far better and have dropped from 14 stone - (five foot four) to nine stone, but I'd love to drop another 14 pounds.
I regularly log on MyFitnesspal - for about 5 days - then give into my "binge" mentality and blow 5 days good work on a day of uncontrolled eating.
My lightbulb moment occurred this week watching "Secret Eaters" on C4. I am a "Dawn" eating healty food in public but stuffing chocolate, cheese and sweets when no-one is looking!
If the detectives from the programme had followed me this week they'd have footage of 3 bags of chocolate buttons scoffed during a dog walk whilst hubbie was at home showering, plus a pack of 10 (yes 10!!) scones stuffed on the way to work due to not eating enough the day before after a heavy weight lifting session.
I need to be made accountable, honest and brave enough to log my food intake daily, plus face the scales! I will weigh in Fridays if that is OK - starting weight 126 pounds.
Best wishes to all and thanks for reading :-)0 -
Starting the month at 68.3 kg.
That's + 0.3 kg since 1st May.
I started the year at 66.4 kg so overall, I've gained 2 kg in 5 months. I just do NOT seem to be able to lose.
DH and I eat healthily. We don't snack, don't have takeaways, ready-meals, any of the things that are supposed to be so bad. For exercise I go to LA Fitness for aqua-aerobics 45 mins Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I move around a lot more around the house, am able to be a lot more active round and about. There's a lot that I can't do. Can't get down to do gardening - we have a lady gardener coming on Monday. But I do seem to be able to move a bit better than I could a year or two ago. I don't WANT to put the weight back on!!
