Whatever you get, just keep the blades clean and sharp to put less strain on the motor/engine and to give best results!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

I am in the process of buying a new house and will soon need a lawnmower to go with it!
The garden is 20m *10m and is mainly grass.
I have decided that petrol is the way forward, probably an 18" cutting blade and an aluminium deck.
I would like the option to be able to put stripes in, but I guess it is not vital.
So far the best options seem to be the Mountfield M41 HP for a hand propelled or the Mountfield 483R for a self-propelled.
Any other good options?
These are both quite expensive........0 -
I'd recommend a Hayter Spirit 41 Push 16" cut with rear roller - It's robust, reliable and produces those stripes which so many of my clients need on there compact lawns - saves getting the big kit out!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

Something cheap, reliable that will last a few years please!

A need to buy a new lawnmower as our Qualcast cylinder mower is making a racket when we cut. Local engineer said bearings may have gone and cheaper to buy new one.
Therefore can anyone please let me know best type of mower around £100/£120 mark for medium sized lawn and whether to buy rotary/hover/cylinder.
Thanks.........0 -
It depends on the size of your lawn and what finish you want (personal preference). I chose a rotary petrol mower which I usually used with the box off. What I would say is if you get a petrol one, go for one with a Briggs and Stratton motor. I've found mine to be really reliable and easy to start.Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade BudgetDECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN - 2023 🏅4*⭐️ : 2024 🏅💐2*⭐️ : 2025 ⭐⭐⭐🏅🏅🏅🏅

right, if you have a very fine grass, and very flat lawn, then go cylinder, anything else go for a rotary, and DONT cut it too short, rotarys are the better mower for the average lawn. quick look on which shows these are the 'best buys' in your price range.
Flymo Multimo 360XC
Bosch Rotak 40
and dont listen to ANYONE who recomends using the 'mulchers' will only make your lawn worse!0 -

I LOVE the Bosch Rotak range, I think mine is Bosch Rotak 36?. Had it ages now.
It's light for me (weedy woman!) and goes right up to the edges of the lawn so no need to strim sometimes. All the grass collected goes in the compost too so no waste
