    Congratulations!

There's a good chance that you will feel a lot better while you're pregnant - the majority of expectant mothers with ME do get a reduction in their symptoms.

I hope you can get somewhere to live close to your family - it will make all the difference. I went down with ME during my second pregnancy and I wouldn't have coped without the help my parents and PILs gave me.

Forget everyone else's "rules" about coping with baby. When baby sleeps, you take a rest. Do get on the ME forums and see how other mothers with ME cope - take what's useful to you and the current state of your health.

I have tried to focus on eye contact and smiling at my baby, it helps build trust and bonding between me and baby as I am limited to when I can pick her up, when my arm is bad I can't hold her, I lay her on a pillow next to me and just look at her, she loves it....

Also invest in a bouncy chair they are a godsend, even from birth they are brill....
I always take the moral high ground, it's lovely up here...

I'm in too much pain to reply to everyone individually at the moment, but I will soon. :)

Having kids is the hardest but most rewarding job in the world :)

  • If you can't self propel, can't you apply for a power wheelchair from the NHS ?

I'm not eligible for help from the NHS wheelchair services because I don't need my wheelchair for 4 hours a day, 4 days a week because I can't go out that much.

Plus, I can't concentrate for too long and wouldn't trust myself not to injure people in a power wheelchair.

Would you suggest that if someone became disabled shortly after the birth that they should then have their baby adopted?

You can have prams made that attach to the wheelchair and we have alot of help from his parents. There are also baby slings and the like.

18 years, you have to be kidding, mine are 43 and 39 and I still worry, the 39 year old is getting married this year for the first time and I just cant wait to see my only daughter in her wedding gown, same feeling as I couldnt wait to see her face when she was born.

    Enjoy every single moment..............
