I got married in red, somehow a white or cream dress wasn't me. Just a plain dress, trimmed with sequin braid, with bolero.
I wore the red as it is the traditional colour for indian weddings, even if we did only have a registry office wedding.
And yes the lady in the avatar is me

my best friend is getting married in june and she's having a purple wedding dress - see here http://www.venusbridal.com/cgi-bin/description.asp?dress=K3359&dressline=PallasAthena
you don't have to be in white to get married
wow, how gorgeous is that!!
i think red's a stunning colour in winter, you'll look amazing and maybe your underwear could be white and sexy for your husband
i left choosing my dress too late so i had to take what they had in the shop in my size, it happened to be black so that raised a few eyebrows but i loved that dress and felt really confident in it. i wouldn't have chosen black, although i'm a bit of a goth and it was a late october wedding but given the choice i wanted that same dress but in green with silver ribbon. my dad would have been horrified, he thinks green means bad luck.'bad mothers club' member 13

oh for gods sake... it gets worse! h2b has just logged ont my ebay account (didn't even know he knew my password!) and seen that my shoes are red. i went mental and he justified it saying "who cares if i know the colour of your dress... i still don't know the style of them (he only saw small thumbnail pic) just like i know your dress will be white but the suprise is in the style"... is he tring to make me feel better by pretending he hasn't worked out my dress is red or is he really THAT thick? he is a bit of a clothing doofus.... !!!!!!, i think i might just scrap the whole thing now and go for something else!0

No don't,if it's 'you' then go for it, just tell him the shoes might be for a bridesmaid- he will not know any different.
One point I'd like to make- the red dress does sound gorgeous, but please steer clear of any white or cream fluffy trims, you don't really want to look like Santa's sister, do you?
Sorry if that's a bit too honest sounding.

littlemissconfused....I got married in an Ivory Wedding Dress and because I'm a bit like you....on the pale side I think red would have been much nicer. Ivory and White are common colours but for a Christmas Wedding I think the red dress would be beautiful.....wish I had thought about that for mine.
Congratulations by the way!

The nicest wedding dress I ever saw was a dark green velvet dress for a winter wedding - the bride looked absolutely gorgeous as it was the most flattering colour for her.
IMHO you should go for the red dress - I too have English rose colouring and would look like a corpse in ivory ... and look at achtunglady in her dress: fab.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

Go for it!!! :j :j :j Its great to have a change from the norm! You said yourself people gasped when they saw you in it - imagine the whole church (or maybe not church) gasping when you walk down the aisle!!! :T
I think its great, a red dress will be soooooo gorgeous, you can have a rec theme - red and white roses, red table decorations, your hubby to be can wear a red waistcoat etc.
It sounds fab!!!! :j :j :j :j :j :j :j:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:0
