I can't believe my Police tickets only reached face value on ebay

  • I'm not looking for sympathy - I just wanted to see what other people's views were.

I am POSITIVE I will sell my tickets for at least face value 2 weeks or so before the concert, especially as it is a one off gig. There is absolutely no way I will make a loss on these, so sorry to disappoint you.

You only have to look at the Take That tickets on ebay to see that people are making a good profit!!
  • At the end of the day, you are not forcing people to pay your price - they bid for it and know exactly what they are doing and how much they are willing to pay. .

So you bought more tickets than you wanted........
Thus giving someone who may have WANTED these tickets no chance of getting any

IMO you and anyone else who does this are as bad as the touts wandering around outside gigs/footy matches or the 'online touts' :naughty:

If there is a genuine reason for sale then fine.... I dont see a problem.

99.9% of the tickets for sale are just bought to make a fast buck

And as steve1905 this is why ticket prices have been pushed up, because the bands/agencys/venues realise people are gonna pay these prices so why not charge them

At least you will have somewhere to put ur coats if you dont manage to sell the extra tickets :D

I decided to buy an extra 2 and try my luck on ebay. Hundreds of thousands do it, so why should I not give it a try?

You are a basically acting like a ticket tout. Next time, just let a real fan buy them at face value.

It's people like that who buy extra tickets to sell on eBay who really p**s me off. I am sorry but I desperately wanted to get tickets for my Fiance to see Ricky Gervais for his birthday, but lo and behold people like you purchased them all making it a sell out and then were putting them on eBay straight away!

These tickets were £25.00 face value and were going up to £150.00 on eBay 10 minutes after they were released by the BIC box office. I was fuming. Luckily, I still managed to get decent seats from the BIC a few days later as they kept some back. I explained to them that I had really wanted 2 tickets for my Fiance's birthday and had been unlucky getting them and that now the majority were now on eBay. One seller had 20 tickets for one night! The woman on the phone was lovely and got me 2 tickets that were 11 rows back but had there not been so many money hungry people who just wanted to cash in, I would have got my tickets straight away.

It is such a shame that people now do this. There are so many genuine people who want to go and have to either pay over the odds for tickets or who simply cannot afford to go and miss out entirely.
  • I totally see your point but unless something is done to stop this profiteering on a mass scale, then I can't blame anybody for trying to make money out of it.

If there are so many problems it should be banned, as with football tickets, but until that time comes people will always try and sell.

But don't you see that you have done a person or 2 people out of tickets because you wanted to make a profit?
  • They they should have got on the phone or internet at 9 am on the day as I did.

So many people say they really want tickets for a particular concert but can't be bothered putting in the time to get any.

I think you should all hurry now, you might miss Sunday School!!

When they get through they have already gone to the people buying extra to put on eay.....

BTW - did you see how many Robbie tickets went unsold, even for peanuts, for his Knebworth Gig?? Some people will pay overinflated price but most won't as they are savvy to this now. If people did not buy then to sell on then there would have been some left - however, I guess some people tried to get through for hours only to find them all gone because of the peole 'buying extra to try their luck'!
  • Shall I cut and paste my argument for the defence again ? :D
  • please - i've not seen it before.
