To be honest I don't know. I've only been to one once and that was years ago. I really think it is worth a try, you have nothing to lose.

I have nothing to lose true!

Job centres used to be nothing more than look on the board and that is your lot.

what would make you think that

you're supposed to be 21 and never looked for a job, yet you are describing job centres how they were 15 yrs ago

This is exactly the sort of thing you have to stop doing, it comes across as arrogant. I don't think you mean it to (at least I hope not).

Don't come to conclusions and be so defeatist on such weak evidence. Just go and give it a go and make your own mind up. If it turns out to be not useful, you've lost nothing. I suspect you will be surprised though

If you don't ask you don't get

Why don't you ask your Mum to come along with you on this visit - sounds as if she has some ideas about how to obtain employment

I am open to job centres being good. My mate was unemployed for 6 months though recently and the job centre did not help him much other than a few photocopies and his dole money.

I hope job centres are outstanding though and he was just unlikely.
