ok, orange was just the first example i could think of
i'm bothered because it has been removed when i wasn't trying to pretend it was a mulberry handbag, or even saying it was like a mulberry handbag. i had described the item in detail with numerous photos in the description (like i do with most items) and it has all been deleted so now i have to list it all over again when i've done nothing wrong.0 -

the website i bought it from described the colour as mulberry, hence why i used the same word
i had not even heard of mulberry handbags before i received the ebay/vero email and have since searched mulberry on ebay
i have also emailed mulberry a few days ago with the email addres ebay provided and given them a link to the website that shows "colour: mulberry" but i have had no reply0 -
have just been looking into this. you can't say something is "like mulberry" in the title but you can describe it as being like a mulberry handbag in the description.
although i don't want to say it is like a mulberry handbag just that the colour is mulberry. so going by the above i may be allowed to say it is mulberry coloured in the description just not in the title.
I wouldn't ever mention the word again in the title or in description as your now on the hot list & putting mulberry in the description will still get it pulled, as eBay VERO searches include the title & description0 -
They/You can't have Mulberry as a colour as it a Trademark & it has been registered with eBay's VERO
The fact that Mulberry is a trademark doesn't mean that you can not use it to describe a colour, or for that matter, a type of fruit. However, it does mean that if they are lazy and are just reporting anything with the word Mulberry in the title, and eBay live down to their usual standards of policing, your listing will be pulled for no legitamate reason, as in this case. :mad:0 -
You may not have been deliberately trying to deceive others but if you were a buyer searching eBay and saw Mulberry handbag as the title, surely you would automatically assume it was the brand itself.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

the quiz i had to do to be allowed to list again said you can put the brand name in the description if something you are selling is like the brand. that was the question i got wrong as i didn't think it was allowed.
i have looked into it again just now to double check and you are allowed to put someone elses brand name in your description if it is like what you are selling, just not in the title.
i will try and find a link to it0 -

you would be silly to assume anything from a title alone, i would never buy anything before reading the description0 -
I agree but there are some silly buyers out there. I do think that it is a little misleading though to put Mulberry in the title if it is not in fact Mulberry and can understand why the item was removed.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

how would i be misleading people when i had never heard of the brand mulberry and presumed it was just the name of a colour?
is it not ok to put the colour of the item in the title?
i always list things as, for example "raspberry red dress" or "teal blue shoes" i usually put the colour its described as by the place i bought it from, plus the simple version of the colour then what the item is. is this not allowed then?
should i check that "raspberry" and "teal", for example, are not brand names before using those words?0 -
Yes you should.
It seems clear you're not willing to listen to why the item has been removed.
By calling it mulberry you are keyword spamming and as a buyer I find this very frustrating.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j
