Does anyone know of any small/free programs that allow you to sort/categorise internet favourites (shortcuts) easily?
Preferably it would have some kind of preview feature so you can see what the site is about then move to the correct sub-folder.
Sure I can do it using windows explorer, but its a slow process and no preview....

This sounds like a great idea if it exists.
I have over 5 years worth or favourites, which i transfer from pc to pc and would take me another 5 years to put them in any order.
I would defo be intrested if there is something availableMSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0 -
I have just lost my old pc and have currently connected the hard drive as a slave onto another PC. How do I go about transferring my favourites?0

You can use Import... on the File Menu of Internet Explorer.0 -
Hi Paul,
Just tried that substituting 'D' as 'C' ( as that is the address of my old hard drive) but it said it could not find it? Any other ideas?0 -

P.S. For those who asked about sorting/categorizing. It is easier to work with files and folders in the 'Favorites' directory than to do the same by using tools of the 'Favorites' menue of the IE. I understand, that this is not what you asked for, but still better than nothing...0 -

It seems that IE6 cannot import favorites without first 'exporting' them first!
Can you run IE6 that sits on your slave drive and export the favorites and then import into IE6 that sits on your master drive?
Failing that, one of the experts here is sure to be able to tell you where the favorites folder resides on your slave drive and where to copy it to your master drive.0 -
Sorry Grumbler - we cross-posted. I have been searching for a 'favorites' folder but could not find it using Windows Explorer search but a DOS search found it with no problem!0

If you have more than one account on your computer every account has its own 'Favorites' inside My_Documents/NAMEOFACCOUNT

On Win2k and XP agreed, but not on Windows 98/ME, where favourites is a normally a folder within c:\windows0
