Can help with weight loss too as far too often we mistake thirst for hunger and end up eating rather than drinking water. Should help cut back on those false hunger pangs ;)

Only 4 drinks today. Will try and force another 2 drinks down me later. :(

    I hate drinking.

Found this thread really interesting. I've always been aware that I drink quite a lot, but am shocked at how little some of you are drinking in a whole day.

I almost constantly have a glass of water in my hand, whether at home or work. As soon as I've finished I will be off to fill it up straightaway.

I also can never understand how anyone could ever eat a meal, or even a sandwich, without a drink. One or two moutnfuls and I need a drink, I literally could not eat a whole meal without one :o

A few years ago I even asked my doctor to check me for diabetes, due to the fact I always fancied a drink. Came back negative and told all was ok, so I am obviously just a thirsty person!!

I find it easier to drink a lot of water if I use bigger cups or glasses. 4 pint glasses is 2 litres and it is more manageable for me to drink 4 pints than to be regularly refilling smaller glasses.

I am generally the opposite.....if using a glass rather than a bottle of water....i find a jug and a red wine glass the 'best' for me.

Totally content today. Three litres now, will certainly have a little more through the evening.

A few tips to make water intake easier...

    1. Make your first drink of the day a glass of water - before anything else, that's one down before you've even thought about it.
    2. Fill 4x 500ml bottles of water and drink from these, so you know exactly how you are doing.
    3. Exercise - you will always drink more when you do.
    4. Tea counts, as does the water content of fresh produce.

    Hope those help.

I did not quite have my two litres, but I had 8 200ml glasses of water and 1 large mug of hot chocolate.

I'm feeling really pleased with that

Thanks for the heads up on the Drinking Water App. Ive just downloaded it onto my phone.

I am aiming for 8 glasses a day. Its 10.45am and i'm only half way through my first drink. Warm water with freshly squeezed lemon (and sugar).

I ought to be half way through my second drink by now.:o

I drank plenty yesterday, at least 3 litres. I was at the gym too, so had a 500ml bottle with me and drank that.

I've had 4x200ml glasses this morning already.

boots_babe, I'm the same, I always have to have water with me. If I go into a meeting and there's no jug of water, I get very annoyed - so now I bring my own.

I rarely leave the house without a bottle of water, and I ALWAYS ask for tap water in bars and restaurants. Once, OH and I were in a restaurant and I asked for a jug of water as we were ordering (we'd also ordered a bottle of wine). I was told that we would have to pay for a bottle of water. We got up and left.
