I got some click/lock boxes that were rectangular and would hold about 1.5 bags of flour. The reason for that was that I could empty the new bag in just as the old bag was about to run out - and there was room for me to scoop up flour using a '1 cup measure' without it spilling over the edges.

It looks like I'm going to have to do the rounds of the supermarkets and pound shops with a tape measure. More odd looks from the staff, but no change there. :)
lol! our local pound!and has lock and lock type boxes come to think of it - and for a pound believe it or not! hopefully one near you will have the right size for you.

Flour is kept in original carton or if it!s in a paper bag this is packed inside a see through plastic bag in case the bag bursts or flour spills. Dry goods like rice, macaroni, other pasta , lentils etc are stored in the large square empty plastic sweet jars cadged from our local newsagent and sweetseller.
Transparent containers are best. It's easy to see when levels have dropped low enough to need restocking.
