Thanks everyone - I now realise I am not a housework failure and that I am not alone in this one!!

I have made brief forays over to OS, but - nice as they are over there - I do feel somewhat out of place due to my inability to keep even one room clear and "company ready". I am much more at home over here on DFW :T

The bike man is on his way over so hopefully will get out for that walk before too long.

Hope everyone else is having a good day and not being consumed by housework - I can completely empathise with Seaxwyn, there simply aren't "homes" for a lot of the stuff that is around, yet can't put it in the bin!

I noticed last week that the FlyLady thread on OS board is now split into Easy / Medium and Hard sections each day - I think a lot of people were feeling a bit overwhelmed by what they had to do each day.

My house is quite easy to keep clean..especially since I ebayed almost everything we own ;) In fact, housework is the only area of my life that I do feel like is under control at the moment!

    Flylady is great.

I managed to keep my whole house clean, tidy and company ready for over 2 years with Flylady. Then my depression kicked in (again! grrr I hate the cycles of this) and it all went a bit pear shaped a couple of years ago. Since then the house has been ... well ... a tip ... ever since.

Even though the wonderful Mr OneDay tries to encourage me, and does his best by tidying up his stuff and doing the essential cleaning inc bathroom and vacuming around my piles of rubbish, I hate the state of my house now. I keep telling Mr OneDay to be patient ... that I will get there, but so far, no success.

But I will. Because Flylady is great! Good luck hypno. I'll join you on the shiny sink tonight.

I just popped over to OS, encouraged by the idea of an Easy level.

Guess what today's 'Easy' thing is: Clean the floors

I'm just not cut out to be a flylady.

I'm not cut out to be a flylady either! Am slowly working my way through the ironing but in no way will it be completed tonight!! Oh well, it can form the basis of tomorrow's challenges to self.....

If your ironing pile was as high as mine was then it is not even in the spirit of Flylady to tackle the whole pile anyway...babysteps!

    hi-

Hypno - do you have a mobile phone? Often they have an alarm or even a timer on - or perhaps OH or the kids have one? You can use this? Just a thought :)

I'm struggling with flylady but congratulate myself on just achieving one thing (or my target of two at the mo) flyladyesque. So today this is drinking water and doing a load - might do some more tonight :) So babybaby steps!

    You're doing fab hon.

    Hello Hypno,

I can sympathise with the housework issue, there are only two of us in our flat and it's still constantly a tip:mad: I did manage to clear the living room which is now a pleasant place to be and the kitchen (although creeping back).

Since becoming self-employed I have become the master of 'I'll do that later', so frustrating because I know if I done it there and then I would be happier and earning more money:rolleyes: Now I have a few weeks full-time work I'm trying to use this as a way of getting back into a routine.

Good luck with it all and I find your diary and inspiration:T

    Thank you.
