i never do ironing unless i have to i wash dry and out by that's it hate ironing i just stuff everything into drawers then pull them out when i need them and if they need an iron i do it then
I have worked on this principal (principle - hmm not sure which one) for many years although mine never moves beyond the ironing pile. Then just whip out a t-shirt and iron it.
Unfortunately the ironing pile gets bigger and invariably someone wants something at the bottom of the pile and so it spills out over the floor!
Will def tackle the ironing this afternoon - I could do it while watching Jeremy Kyle if I wanted to feel intelligent.....:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Oh, hypno, you poor thing. Thats how hard it is for you a lot of the time, isn't it, and you keep going for your kids, active little things that they are. I hope you get some time today in that clear spot on the sofa.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well done Hypno:T I bet that hall and loo look great!
When I look at the chaos that is my home I think of the adage: "a place for everything and everything in its place".
We have piles of clutter everywhere (mostly paperwork and toys I think) and when it comes to tidying up, I get defeated as there actually isn't any place for these things to go. I'm pretty good at throwing stuff out that we don't need, it's knowing what to do with what we do need that's the problem.
I don't know why I cluttered up your thread with my own maunderings but thought I'd write it anyway in case it struck a chord.
Good luck with the rest of the day - hope the bike man comes quickly so you can go out for a run.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Bizarrely I actually quite enjoy ironing sometimes - you can watch a film, listen to music, chat to someone etc without feeling guilty as stuff is getting done - my flatmate thinks I'm weird cos I iron sheets & duvet covers, but there's nothing quite like a freshly made bed with ironed sheets - it feels soooo good.Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Oh and re ironing.... I hardly ever do it. OH does his own and I encourage the children to do theirs. But they don't care enough to bother usually. If you give things a good shake to get rid of any creases before putting it away, I find you don't normally need to bother.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Ditto - I hardly ever iron. Everything gets put away in the drawers as soon as it's dry and then gets ironed (if needed) just before wearing. Unlike my mum who irons EVERYTHING, you name it she irons it! Poor dad tries so hard to keep up with her that I once caught him trying to iron a bra!!!!MFW

I have to say I agree. I ironed last night for the first time in about 3 years and it was only because I wanted to iron the clothes I was putting on ebay - I was dutiful wife and mother though and did iron the other clothes that had just been watched.
DH thought I was very busy, even though I was actually catching up on all the Heroes I had Sky+ and therefore I looked like I was still doing housework late at night - but actually it was quite fun - not sure I'll make a habit of it though0 -
Hi Hypno...
That's one hell of a long list!!!....please don't be too hard on yourself...I do think the idea of 10 or 15 minute bursts are a good idea....will have to try this myself!!..as I am getting nowhere at the moment...
Getting debt-free you are doing fantastic and providing loads of motivation for all around you...
Exercise may need the same approach as housework ...baby steps...
You are doing absolutely fantastic...
Your business will go from strength to strength...the first 3 years are the hardest and once word gets around more people will come...0
