Hi Taxi, No - I'm with barclays and I think the problem was more "user and laptop error" rather than a problem at their end!!
I'm sitting in my conservatory now with the old steam-ridden PC, the birds are singing and all is well with the world.
Hope everyone has a good day xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
ooh Hypno - that sounds lovely! I am woken by the birds most days and although it's getting earlier and earlier, it's so nice to hear! Different from the sirens I used to hear anyway lol.CCCS DMP:Feb 07

So far today, I have not made the most of the sunshine and have been indoors doing nothing/being online!
Did take DD shopping - it is her birthday in a couple of months and she wants clothes. Told her she has £30 to spend and if she is savvy she could get loads for her money. She is thrilled and has been to Peacocks, and the like in order to get most for her wonga!
As a result she came back with loads, all mix and match, and I will keep them back now until her birthday.
DH and DS are outside putting up a new TV ariel but while outside DS could smell petrol and they have discovered that the fuel tank on DH motorbike is damaged and petrol is dripping at a steady rate of knots so very  because it is only Friday that he had some bit repaired on it costing £103 and he needs new shock absorbers soon plus now he needs work to the fuel tank pretty pronto and his insurance is due at the end of this month.
What is really  is that he wanted a bike because it would be cheaper to run on a day to day basis than the car! Those words "false economy" are coming to mind.
Def no overpayments expected this month now :mad:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Oh Hypno..it never rains but it pours in your house...sorry to hear about the motorbike...I hope you manage to get it fixed cheaply...
Well done on DD getting value for money....children do need to learn to budget so well done to her0 -
Been on a bit of a mercy mission - friend broke her arm at the ski club so had to go and watch her children while her OH took her to A&E where she was duly plastered up.
Back home now but still mighty peeved about the motor bike. A guy from the ski club who does bikes is going to come and collect it tomorrow (it is currently unridable due to the fuel gushing out!) and will assess the damage. At least this guy will not try and talk us into spending more money than we need, but any money being spent is too much money at the mo
Oh well, may need to raid the house for a new batch of ebay stuff.
Hope everyone else is well and has had a good weekend xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good Morning! A new day and a new week is upon us.
I have been doing a lot of thinking (my word it hurt my head) about "stuff" surrounding me and my "space" and have decided that I need to have a multi-pronged attack in order to feel completely in control (which I don't at the moment).
So, the areas of my life that cause me stress if I am not in control are:
- Debt (obviously) - I am reasonably well on top of things in this area. Not perfect, but not too bad.
- Business, as self employed if I do not work, I do not earn. Cannot afford not to earn so need more work in.
- Housework. This has now taken over - every room is out of control and it is causing me a lot of stress because I think that even a whole load of effort will not make a scrap of difference, it really is that bad and I am at the point of pretending I am out if someone calls.
- Family. I don't feel that my family are out of control as such :rotfl: but OH is in a job that he is not happy in at the moment and DD has had long periods of illness (kidney problems) over the last couple of years. Thankfully the children are both healthy at the moment so in general this section of my life is not too bad at the moment.
Me I need to do something for me. I am not making so much effort for myself as maybe I should. These is not good and I am worried that it could spiral into very negative feelings which would not be good for any of the other areas of my life.
So, new day, new week, new effort :j
Realising that debt is not the only area of my life that needs effort, I will be setting myself daily goals which I will endeavour to achieve:
Today I will:
- do my banking. I don't have access to online banking at the moment so need to go into the branch to find out what I have (or have not!) got where.
- Tidy/clean my downstairs loo and the hall and stairs. OK so they are the two smallest areas, but I need to start somewhere!
- Try and work my way through the wash baskets that are currently overflowing, otherwise everyone will be complaining they have no clothes that are clean!
- Write some guided visualisation scripts that I need for business and drop some business cards off at a local shop that is happy to display them for me.
- Post Davina's DVD to Elanten
- I need to do some exercise - release those happy hormones and all that. The very least I will do is to walk to the post office to post that DVD. If I am able timewise (don't know what time OH bike being collected for repair yet) I will go for a jog around the block.
So - having written it all down for all and sundry to see, I have to do this otherwise you lovely lot have permission to come down on me like a ton of bricks!!
Here's to a productive week, all round :beer:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hello Hypno
Hope you got a good night's sleep.
Good luck with all those challenges. Make sure to do the running - that will make you feel much better. If you don't have time in the day, what about the evening? Slip out when everyone's gone/going to bed.
Another thing - and please don't take this the wrong way, it comes from your greatest fan - maybe don't spend any more time on the computer than you need to. It's an awful thief of time and if you add up all the five minutes spent on MSE, that's your jogging time. I wish I could take my own advice on this.
I so sympathise with you on the housework. Our house is so awful I can't let anyone in except the children's friends (and even then I cringe). If their parents come to pick them up I keep them chatting at the door, my body firmly blocking the view inside, they must wonder why they don't get invited in.
Good luck with that downstairs loo. I look forward to reading a report later that it's sparkling like a new button! I'd join you in a challenge but we don't have a downstairs loo and I can't do the stairs as the hoover's all but given up the ghost.
Have a lovely day and hope the bike repair is not too costly.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
HI Hypno - an awful lot of vchallenges, but I've no doubt you'll do i!
Perhaps, although you said flylady is a little much for now, but you could use a timer for your downstairs loo and hall bit - set it for 15 mions, see what you can do and then if need be another 15 mins but that's it. No more! THen 15 mins (timed!!) break - on here or having a coffee or whatever.
Might help? Sorry if not!
