    Hi Hypno

Really sorry to hear about the problems with the bike, I hope that it is nothing too serious (and therefore costly) and that your DH will be back on the road with it in no time. I think it's great that you have written down a comprehensive list of things that you want to deal with, I know housework can seem really overwhelming at times, but attacking small areas one at a time will make it seem much less daunting (just wish I lived nearer - I love cleaning!! :o )

Are you planning on doing another ebay sweep? Maybe you could incorporate this into taking control of your home, i.e. basically having a massive de-clutter of all the bits that you don't want/need/use, and either put them on ebay or freecycle/car boot as appropriate.

I will pop back in later to see how you are getting on (I must, must revise :o )

Morning hypno are you ok? Bit concerned.

Firstly welldone you for the goals for the week. you've done so amazingly well this year so far getting over 8k paid off your debt and no matter how Sh!? things feel don't loose sight of how far you've come. you're an inspiration to many here and don't you forget it!!
Re business, you seem to have some very good ideas for where you want your business to go and what you want to get from it, think the tutoring course would be of great benefit to you and help you get where you want to be.
ooooh i sooo know what you mean about the housework! it's bad enough with one man in the house, let alone one man and two dear kids! but go for the baby steps as you say, and re the washing up, i'll race you!! :rotfl:
Please please don't spend out on a timer. have one i never use and will bring with me to mb tutorial if you like. completely bamboozled by all this flylady stuff, never heard of it and don't have a clue!! enlighten me?
Put a bloomin good cd on and have a sing along while doing the housework, you won't even realise how much your getting done!
Sometimes life takes over and us women substitute our well being for that of DH/DD/DS/DP etc etc. You're always telling people to go have a relaxing bath and chill out for the evening and i think you should do as you suggest. i have a french manicure kit i bought last year for £4.99, i can't afford a luxury salon to paint my nails but i can do it myself, and just looking well groomed makes you feel so much better, and it's a little bit of luxury with a glass of wine in the evening. I love the idea of the virtual running club and think we should all follow this through. Either get straight out of bed into your running shoes in the morning, or have your kit waiting for you when you walk through the door from your room and go straight out. I personally can't run in the morning anywhere near as well as i can in the evening, bizarre.

Anyway am rambling. Just have a great day and i look forward to a housework report later.

I'm sorry things don't feel good at the moment. I was just thinking about the categories you wrote in your first post this morning:
Debt "not too bad" - uh, substitute "flaming magnificent" and you'll be closer. Okay, I know you had huge debt to start with, but really, look at the *percentages* that you've lopped off, this calendar year alone!!! I definitely go with magnificent rather than not too bad.
Business Well, I'm with you on this one, in the same boat. You have a great website (I've done two more hours work on my new draft of mine this morning!) and I recall you had some ideas about writing a few days ago? So, there's a new pathway.
Housework That sounds like you're really suffering. I think the timer is a great idea - I use the alarm on my watch, a cheap £7.95 Casio thing - it really helps, particularly when I hop to the computer after setting something to simmer. I do keep the bits of my house that clients see tidy, and pretty clean, and I also try to keep the living room presentable, but living in a mess can depress us without realising it - its only when I visit someone and see how tidy the place is that I realise how bad it can feel. I have to loop back to the timer on this one, for you and me both.
    Family Thats pretty good!
Me I think the exercise you describe is the most important thing - the virtual running with BAUK and pania could be crucial - just visualise them (and me! and me!) when you go to the post office!

Lunchtime update for those who are interested (and those that aren't but have to suffer reading my diary from time to time :rotfl: ):

Downstairs loo and hall/stairs are clean and tidy, skirting boards hoovered, the lot! At least if someone comes to the door and it is raining I can invite them in to the hall, just need to make sure the doors leading off are closed!

Washing - have done 3 loads so far but confess to being very un-DFW and using the tumble drier - I don't have a washing line since my work cabin was put up in the garden, and the airer won't cope with the volume today, so in the interests of trying to get on top of things, the tumble drier it has to be. Sorry. Will post in the Sunday Sinners thread.....:o

Banking/Post office/Business cards - not able to do these yet because still waiting for OH bike to be collected. Have no idea when the chap is coming so have to stay in until then.

Ditto for walking/jogging - can't go out yet.

Business - not yet, but will do this afternoon.

Thanks for the offer of the timer Pania, it will be much appreciated! Do you have any time yet when you want to meet up tomorrow?

Hi El! I think I will need two or three MONTHS, not weeks to do my bedroom - it is hardly the calm peaceful sanctuary that I would like. The same goes for my lounge - I just want somewhere tidy to sit at the end of the day, but we all fight for the one clear spot on the sofa at the moment. Not good!

I am allowing myself a "lunch break" to come onto MSE but will have to go and do some more work of some sort soon.

If I cannot get to the post office today because of being housebound while waiting for bike man to arrive, DD will take DVD after school. One way or another you should get it in the morning.

By the way, "witty and smart" - think you've got the wrong diary, Love :rotfl:

How about scooping everything on the sofa up into a big box to put it in the corner of the room - you'll rummage for anything you actually need as and when, and in a months time you can just throw whatever is left out!

Hi Storm - I have tried that in the past, but now just have lots of big boxes as well as the mess!! My lounge mess at the moment consists of 2 armchairs full of ironing, overspilling onto the floor, boxes, various ebay stuff, massess of papers/admin type stuff and so on and so on and.....and.....:rotfl:

I think that I may use the fact that I am housebound today to re-assess my goals and to tackle the ironing. I have a boxed set of Coupling that I have never watched (never seen it on TV either!) so could iron away to that and clear another spot to sit.
