OK, so have paid the £500 off the egg card but the result is not as I hoped it would be:
- I have used my egg card to pay for all the mystery shopping expenses over the last three weeks as these need to be paid up front and claimed back. These amounted to about £200  which of course show up on my statement but I do not consider them to be debt because I will get the expenses back which can then go straight off the egg card. (with me so far)
- my Dad had a fab computer which needed "clearing" - all his personal stuff was on it and I couldn't face sorting through it myself so I took it to a specialist to do. It cost me £167 which I didn't have so put it on my egg card.
This cost can be reclaimed somehow because with a bit of jiggery pokery I can buy the computer as a business asset (do need one for business and this would save me buying one) so the money will go back off my egg card in due course, but still have to get my head around the implications of this.
So the net result is that I paid off £500 from my egg card but only actually reduced my total owing in "reality" by £120.07!!!!!
Just shows how easy it is to run up a balance on a credit card! At least they are things that I can get refunded somehow, and not things I actually have to include in my debt totals, if that makes sense. When expenses and things come through, the total will really come down. As it stands today, Egg are owed £1668.07 - the smallest of my debts and my current target for clearing.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Try not to be disheartened hun, how long roughly do the expenses take to come through? When are you aiming to get your Egg paid off by? That amount is very similar to what my overdraft was at, you will get there in no time I am sure of it xxMFW

you're doing really well hypno and paying off any amount is an acheivement,
thats £120.07 you don't need to pay interest on and you can still clear the rest when the expenses come through!
then you'll see the balance really decrease!! welldone!!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Hi hypno
I really understand how discouraging that can be, but *you* are the one keeping the real figures - this is just cash flow, you *have* paid off £500 from your debt, its just that you're also a creditor. I know that makes sense on some planet or other.... Admiration and understanding flowing to you from this little corner of cyberspace.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Hypno...well done on the £500 absolutely brilliant....if this is a bad month just wait and see what you can do on a good month...
If you have to hypnotise someone to lose weight I'll be your guinea pig...lol
It'll be gone in no time that egg card...0 -
Fab support from everyone as usual - you guys really know how to keep people motivated :T :T :T
Wasn't able to log on this afternoon - did a mystery shop and saw a couple of clients, then disaster struck - DD was being very helpful strimming the grass when a big bit of grass flew into her eye and promptly got lost!!
One minute I could see it, the next she had blinked it so it was hidden!!
Cue one trip to the emergency doctor, with a kicking and screaming 12 year old! The Doctor pulled her eye about - really gross, but he couldn't find the grass!!! Turned her eyelids inside out - horrid for a mother to see her little girl go through, but still no luck.
If it is still the same tomorrow then she has to have an anaesthetic and they will turn the eye around
DD has got used to the feeling of the eye now, but still no evidence of grass coming out, or staying in!!!
Oh the joys of parenting.....:rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
oh dear hypno, has all been happening for you! poor DS one day and poor DD the next. I feel for her, hope that the naughty piece of grass decides to behave and evict itself, wouldn't much fancy having my eye turned around.
Sounds like a sucessful day's mystery shopping and work though. have a good evening!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0
