Hi guys, woken up with a "thick" head - feel as though I have a hangover, yet without the pleasure of being drunk!!
So, thankfully I have a quiet day today, I can do very little except sit on the sofa with my laptop and endless coffee! My first client is not until this evening.
Anyway, Grandpa is about 40 mins away, so OH is going there straight after work to see him, so that is not too bad. I know that when someone gets to 94 it is expected at some point, but it is still sad when it gets to that stage.
I don't think we will find out who was responsible for damaging the bootwarmers sadly, so no chance of getting them replaced. I have my suspicians, but that is all they are - no hard evidence so I can't go saying anything to the parents, and I DO trust the houseparents to instil the necessary harsh words etc.
Anyway, 'nuff said about crap stuff.......today I am determined to rest a bit, get my energy back and then....world watch out (or something like that).

Is there not a group insurance policy that could perhaps pay out? (unless the excess is greater?)
These happenings are surely why we have insurance? (Acts of mindless vandalism)
Though with your history of insurance claims, DS should have been with his boot warmers 24/7.....0 -
Think I'll be joining you on the sofa today Hypno ... I woke up at 7 and my stomach was cramping like mad, felt like I had a brick in it ... anyhow after being sick I went back to bed and have just resurfaced but still felt a bit dodgy ... can't be anything I ate so may just be a bug ... but for now I'm staying put right hereMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

OO, the bootwarmers will "only" cost £30 to replace, so not able to claim on insurance. I was just miffed about it I suppose, but am better now x
Benben, sorry you are sick. I hope it is just one of those 24 hour bugs and that you are fighting fit again very soon. For today, sofas rule! That AQA total is going up nicely - soon be in 3 figures!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I'm not surprised you're miffed. It's always hard when you're children are far away and you can't see how they are and give them the support or comfort they might need. But don't feel at all bad about letting them go (if you do) as that kind of thing can easily happen at school.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Thanks guys, was just a bit "touchy" I think last night!
No, I don't do AQA. Thought about it a couple of times, but never actually applied. There is a thread that will help you with some tips FF, if you want to have a go at applying. I am sure the AQA'ers will be happy to help you out with some suggestions! Give it a go!
I have a bit of good news, maybe - I have an interview for a job on Friday next week. Won't go into it too much, but I think it would start after christmas. Bloomin hard job, but part time hours for full time pay. Tutoring so fits in with everything else I do. I really really want this job, so badly it hurts! No pressure then :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Just echoing what everybody else said really!
Hope you are feeling a bit better today and everything that I can cross is crossed for your job.0
