Hypno's kick up the backside debt diary....

The children's flight lands at about 10.30pm on Saturday night - so no extra hour in bed, sadly by the time we get back etc!
I have just had a £10 tesco voucher in the post in response to DD's ski fund letter. It is the only positive response she has had from it but at least it is something. As it is a voucher, I will use the voucher to go towards the shopping, and will put £10 cash into the ski fund to replace it......just off to amend siggy now!
Yay Hypno - well done you! Just worked out that you are about 30% of the way there! and well done on the Tesco Voucher - better than a kick in the teeth!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Hi Hypno, do you kids collect the Tescos vouchers for schools and would that help for ski related things? I'm happy to send them to you. I collect them and loads of people in my work give me that, but its just not cool anymore for DD to take in vouchers!0

I am so  some little !!!!!! has thought it funny to hide DS's ski poles (later found behind a toilet, so not just "mislaid" by DS, and has taken his electric boot warmers and broken them  Like I can afford to just replace stuff because someone has no respect for other people's bits and pieces.
DD has been on the phone because she is upset that someone is being nasty to her brother and has had to get the housemum involved.
Am I doing the right thing in letting them go away - am I being too sensitive in that these things happen on school trips, boarding schools etc etc all the time? I think it is as much the fact that it is US who have to replace things that we couldn't afford to buy in the first place, as anything coupled with the knowledge that I can't personally give them a hug or give the relevant child a clip round the ear
Off to put the kettle on. Just want to cry.
Sorry, rant from "oversensitive, not sure if being over-protective or irresponsible mother" over now.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Ahhh Hypno, sending you a huge hug ... you're not being oversensitive at all, it takes a lot to let your kids go off into the big wide world and you are providing yours with great opportunities
Perhaps when you find out who did it their parents may offer to contribute?? Possibly a jealous child who isn't as good at skiing as your kids?? It must be horrible for you to want to hug your kids and you can't but soon you can hug them all day long
Sending you big hugs hun, and will share a cup of tea with you if your kettle is onMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Not being over-protective or irresponsible you are trying to do the best for your kids. Personally I would request that the stupid kids parents replace what was deliberetely broken, you and your OH have gone without to a certain extent to make sure your kids have the chance of a lifetime and someone being so blasted minded as to just break something they shouldn't even have had hold of! grrrrrDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Oh dear. I would be     as well. REALLY  as I hate it when kids do things like this (and I don't even have kids!).
However you do have to let them go and do things - you can't keep them hidden away hon.
I think the parents of this little twonk need to contribute though - or make the kid work for the money. Well - however they pay/sort it is up to them but as you say - you can't afford to replace things willy nilly due to a reckless child that's not even yours!
Pursue it when they all get home.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
