Ooh, no keeping things from you!! Eagle eyed or what!!
Yes, DS got a late birthday card with a £10 note in there - that he promptly handed over to put in the fund.

Your kids are so good about handing the money over! Makes it worthwhile to do, because you're sure then that they really want this. Thats lovely.
Chocolate week....... oh god, it might mean going up to London again. The only event in my town costs £25, rats. There's one at Fortnum & Mason's tho, in London, free, on the art of chocolate making. Trouble is, I'm supposed to be going to a seminar, which clashes. What to do.... Chocolate should be in my moniker, really... something like Charmacat, which would get sniggers every time I posted, so on the whole better not. But I like chocolate. I *really* like chocolate.

Blimey, £25 is a lot of money for an event - even if it is chocolate. For that I could go to Pania's local market and buy loads and loads of really good chocolate and stuff my face silly!!
As for the Fortnums one, well there is no contest is there......who wants to go to a seminar when there is chocolate available!!

Morning Piggin - my smiley thing is on my tool bar - at the top of the internet page. It is just a yellow smiley face that brings up all the smileys when you click on it. Hope you manage to find it!
Well, as you can see, my lay in failed to materialise, on account of OH falling asleep after his alarm went off to take the kids skiing. I woke up at 5.30 realising that everyone was still asleep, so jumped out of bed (well, crawled really) and had to get everyone up.
I did go back to bed a few mins later, but the damage had been done and I didn't get back to sleep  so finally got up and put the heating on and the kettle on instead!
Oh well! Today I really want to create some calm in the house - as you know I get fairly discouraged by the amount of clutter and general untidyness of the house. I have been making small areas of improvement (the dining room table is still clear enough for us all to eat at, for example) but the rest bugs me somewhat.
So with them all out of the house, and only the student in, I am going to create some bigger areas of space and calm.
Then I also have to do this bloomin essay for college on Tuesday. I will be doing that once I have created one calming space to work in, and once I have drunk enough coffee for my brain cells to function to a sufficiently high level!
I hope you all have a good day xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I could never essay write in clutter either. Seems to be a mature student thing though-doesn't seem to bother "traditional" students
Ended up with two for two yesterday. Lexie came home-neighbour knocked to say she was in my front garden. She looked fine and even extra glossy but ate three days worth of food in one go and then settled down for a three hour snooze on my lap before heading outside (she was back for breakfast so all seems to be well will attempt to reintroduce the kitten again later today). The only weird thing was-her fur smelt really strongly of cheap fabric conditioner ?? !!
Hope the essay comes easilyI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Obviously had just had a holiday! At least she is home safe and sound, and from the sounds of it, she prefers your home to wherever she has been, so that has got to be a good thing!!
Still sat here in my pj's at the mo, about to have another coffee and then will get on with the housework - didn't want to start too early in case I woke the student up with my clattering around......well, that's my excuse anyway!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Absolutely - being considerate is paramount.....
I did risk the noise that the kettle makes.......some things just can't be put off!
I have given myself until 9am which is when my current cup of coffee is due to expire, and will then do something. Not sure what......I keep looking at the ironing pile......but then even ironing might make some noise......perhaps.....:oSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground.
