home now, and my feet are killing me! The children are tired and grumpy, although happy with their weekend - they are just over tired, so I think an early night is in order for us all.

We have brought home half a dozen steaks that didn't get used for the barbecue - a tray of cooked jumbo sausages (good couple of dozen of those) and some lamb kebabs, which are part cooked - all left overs from the catering, and I am sure I can utilise them in the meal plan!

So this evening, I am pulling apart the lamb kebabs and making some sort of stir fry thingy with perhaps some roasted new potatoes or couscous or something. It will be edible, and what's more IT WILL BE FREE!!!!

Oh, and I found 10p, and I came home with £5 of the money I took with me - the kids were fab, and didn't craze for stuff, so it can all be added to the ski fund pot :T

Thanks LA, I hope things are good for you at the mo.

Your sig reminded me that EGG, who I have such love and respect for  have offered OH a balance transfer of 3.9% until sometime next summer, with the usual 3% transfer fee. So, on the basis that he has about £1500 available, I could utilise that very nicely. I think my Egg card is about the same balance, so if I could transfer mine to his, that would get the balance reducing quickly, whilst leaving me with the total available on mine to maybe BT another debt in due course.

Will get my thinking hat on as to the best way of doing this one - it is not often that Egg offer us something worth considering, so I need to grab the opportunity!

I have looked into the justgiving page but the Skier's Trust of Great Britain, which is the trust fund that the British Ski Academy use, is not listed as one of their registered charities. I will make enquiries as to how we can get it registered, then all the kids who go can make use of the justgiving pages. I don't think they can do a page as individuals, only as registered charities.

I will look further into it.

I have just sorted out the meat I brought home today and there is far more than I thought! The lamb will do at least three dinners - stir fry today, and a curry and a casserole for the freezer. Added some fresh mint and rosemary picked from the garden and it all smells fantastic!

Instead of 6 steaks, I have just bagged up 18!!!! So a few yummy meals there too!

The sausages are in the freezer too - they are already cooked so I expect they will be brought out when the kids have friends over for dinner at short notice!

    I love free food!!!

The ski schools quite intense then - not sure I'd of wanted to go off to another country for all that time when I was their age - I'm sure they'll have a great time, it's just such a shame these things cost so much (working in university widening participation I'm really passionate about people not being prevented from doing stuff just because their parents haven't got huge sums of money to spend etc etc - not that I think you'll let anything stop you!)

The free food sounds very good Hypno - and I'm sure you'll use every last bit!

I was up at 6.30 today too as we went on a day out which was lovely although I feel like I've not done enough catching up with jobs and stuff now but oh well... better go and catch up with the washing up now, nothing worse than coming back to it after work the next evening - oops!

Hope you have a good day at work tomorrow and are getting more used to your new Monday routine!

Hi YL, I am glad you had a good day out, but I know what you mean about the jobs that need to be done. I had a panic when I realised I had no bread for sandwiches tomorrow, and had not washed school uniform! Ended up putting the heating on to get it dry in time.....:o

Off to bed now so that I can get up early enough to go to work. I have lost my diary (still) and it has in my passwords for the computer there, so I think my first job of the day will be to call in the techies :o:o:o

    Catch you tomorrow!!
