Well, I have just had a fantastic evening - a friend took me to see Erasure. Fab fab fab time, but am in so much pain now - I am not recovered enough for mad camp 80's dancing!!!!! My physio will be so cross with me.

But it was SO worth it! I sang at the top of my voice and bopped till I (very nearly) dropped!

Said friend bought dinner beforehand and did the driving too, so a real treat! I am not worthy!!

So, am singing Erasure songs now in my head, and will be all night which is PANTS really because I have to be up at the crack of dawn to take the kids skiing!

As for ski sponsorship, the kids are lined up for car washing, and DD has been sponsored already to stop biting her nails!! We will draw up a plan of action. My Mum always said that she never worried if I committed to something, because she knew I would pull it out of the bag. This one is no different really - very exciting and a fab opportunity.

I have to say, though, that if it was not for this site, there would be no way they could go - I will be quidco-ing, matched betting, and bingoing their way to the Alps - things I had never heard of 12 months ago!

So, once again - THANK YOU MSE!!!!!

Wow - was glad I was sitting down when I read about the £7000 :eek::eek: but it will be a great experience I'm sure - will they be away for several months then or do they just go out for odd weeks?

I guess my parents were lucky we didn't have quite so expensive hobbies - I did music, drama, dance, swimming all sorts of things but at a low 'recreational' level so it never cost too much - good luck getting together all that money - I'm sure you'll make it and I think Sea's idea about the local paper is fantastic - are there many children locally going?

Your OH sounds like he's been working pretty hard too - is the Ski centre his main job? I seem to remember you saying he had 2.

Hi YL! There are generally a few local kids go out over the winter - our club is one of the biggest and the best and have produced some World Class racers so competition for funds is tough.

OH does work there full time and more! He also has a couple of other part time jobs, although one of those is often full time hours too, and he does a voluntary job as well a couple of nights a month, so he really does work flat out, bless him. We will get the kids skiing and we will get debt free.

(and then we will put our feet up for a day or so!!).

They will be going out in October for a week, then January for 4 weeks, then Easter for 2 weeks and poss March for a week, depending on their race calender.

4 weeks - the longest their bedrooms will have stayed tidy!!!

Seriously Hypno - local papers. especially if you get their schools involved too - they'll be desperate for the publicity of all that!

Yes, off to bed now. Very tired. Very excited. Generally very good! (sadly, not very drunk because got to get up tomorrow!)
