Hypno, I've just read on someone elses thread that they were also asked to contact MBNA re their card application, and they didn't do it because they thought they might lose the £8.50 from Quidco. Anyway, the card turned up without the phone contact and with a £5K limit!

I Think? that with the MBNA that if they ask for you to contact them then you have been approved but they are going to try and get you to sign up to their payment protection over the phone. I got the same message last night and I didnt opt for te payment protection. Maybe all instant approved decisions are people that went for the protection online.

Recently I applied for a loan with A&L and they kept ringing and all it was was them trying to sell me their loan protection on the loan.

    But I could be wrong.
  • Hi hypno - just been trying to catch up with your thread; miss a week or two and there are another 20 pages! Good to see you're keeping up your inspirational efforts.

By the way, did you get a freebie with your scarlet subscription? ;)

Right, I am going long on pasta..........forget spreadbetting and matched betting, I am going into commodities trading. Long on pasta, short on rice

Have had a good day helping move, followed by a fab barbecue, and introduced them to the likes of quidco etc. Only downside is that my neck and arms ache from the journey - still got a way to go before they stop hurting I think if today is anything to go by, but I will not let it defeat me in my quest to live life!!

Tomorrow the children start another week of intensive ski training, so an early start, and I will take my laptop to the ski club and "work" there. My £8.50 from MBNA has tracked on quidco, and I will call them on Tuesday - they provided me with a freephone number, so what the heck, and see what they say.

GTD, Scarlet magazine has not yet arrived. I have only ordered it for the quidco cash ;) Haven't heard from you for a while, hope things are good with you.

I hope everyone else is having a good weekend - off to catch up with a few threads, before having a hot bath and an early night :D

  • Buy buy buy pasta - bye bye rice.

Good here thanks hypno. I was tempted to go for the Scarlet offer (for the gf of course) but I didn't want the embarrassment of the postman handing me the free 'toy' :)

I signed up for the MBNA offer too and also got the freephone number - darn. Because that's when I remembered that I'd applied for the A&L card a few months ago, which is run by MBNA, and got the same number. I didn't get the A&L card... Ho hum, do you need to get the card to get the £8.50?

Early night?? When you could be on here instead???

No, you don't need to have a successful application for MBNA - that is why I applied, because I thought I would be rejected outright, it is simply £8.50 for each application made.

And don't worry about the embarressment from the postman - just go for the cashback!!
