Evening ladies. I'm very glad to see that we have some new people in the race to 35k (and am I still in the lead?)
Olive, if/when your Amazon listings expire in october, you simply relist them. you can do it is as many times as you like.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Evening Seaxwyn, I hope you have had a good weekend at your Sister's.
Yes, you are still in the lead - by miles and miles!! We have our work cut out, but a challenge is there to be metSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
 just updated my snowball etc and I have had to add on £49 to our total outstanding, so instead of hoping to shave a bit off the totals, taking into account money paid this week I have had another increase
OK, so £49 is not that great, but it is still another increase, and the whole point of this game is to get the debt down!!
Don't want to play any more **hypno goes off in a sulk with bottom lip stuck out**.
You're doing great hypno, as far as I can tell from what I've read of your diary. You're taking so many steps forward that one step back is nothing. And given what you've already paid off, this isn't even really a step back at all, just tiny hiccup maybe:cool: Official DFW Nerd #620 :cool:Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -
Thanks, hopefully when the new student arrives in 2 weeks and that money starts coming through, we can stop using the credit card in emergencies and I can get that debt down good and proper. As it is, we are at the end of the money and there is still 10 days until payday, so although we can manage with storecupboard meals etc, the credit card will be needed to pay for petrol

Well I need that lead, because you and Taxi are such ace debt-payers (surely taxi will beat us all).
I had a lovely weekend, thanks. It would have been a DFW one, except the kids won goldfish at a local fair. As they had to survive in a sandwich box for 24 hours until we got home, I went to a fish shop to buy some plants to keep them going - and came out having spent £24.04 on fish-keeping accessories.
Oh well. Live has improve for poor Boris, our old goldfish who has lived alone in an algae-infested stagnant tank. Now he has three new companions and lovely aerated water from the new filter-pump thing I bought.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

I hope boris is very happy with his new friends, and that he appreciates the money you have kindly spent on him!
You are right, Taxi has this competition sown up (don't let her think she will win it though, otherwise she will get complacent and won't try).
MIT, I didn't sulk for long - DD came downstairs and wanted to know why I had that strange face on :rotfl:
Right, getting tired now, so off to bed. Catch up with you all in the morning xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Morning guys, today brings the realisation that we still have two weeks until payday - OH gets paid on the last day of the month, and although we are now at 20th Aug, the last day of the month still feels like years away! I will be making some very wonderful packed lunches and meals from what we have in the cupboards and freezer over the next couple of weeks! May have to make some more muffins too.............:p
Today I have, according to my diary, be dressed by 9, then to do flylady, then some admin and my piggy clicks, ending at 11 with checking ebay - we have two things ending today, only one has bids and I don't expect it to get more than the £1.60 it is currently sitting at, so that is not going to even cover the costs really. Oh well, onwards and upwards......
Physio this afternoon, then take the kids to karate, hoping to pop into aldi on the way to pick up some cat food as it is cheaper there.
On the money side, I have made enough in matched betting etc to pay for the children's race camp next week - I had intended using the money from the sale of dad's computer but due to my payment "hiccup" with MBNA/Egg, my budgets went haywire and that money has been used to see us through unwinding that error.
Anyway, at least I will have the money to pay for race camp, so no need to panic about that - there will also be £100 coming on top of that which can go against the debt. need to get that total down.......
I added up my "pendings" in quidco, topcashback and pigsback - £183.51 :j Won't come through for a while, and comes in dribs and drabs, but all of that is earmarked for the debt one way or another, so good news.
Right, diary says I need to be dressed by now.......Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Afternoon all...Seaxwyn...you are winning by a mile as my debt is now spot on(I included the car loan and deposit).
You are both doing well and I won't be back at work for another month...lol...no sulking now Hypno...have you done all on your list today?...have a good day..0 -
Hi Taxi, yes the list is progressing nicely - just the ironing and the utility room to do on today's page, apart from the physio and taking the children to karate. Everything else done!
Plus, have sold something on ebay - not made much but enough to cover last month's fees, have listed something else, and put half a dozen books on amazon, with some more to list tomorrow. DD has brought down a party dress that is now way too small that we can list on ebay tomorrow too, so perhaps this week will be a bit of a declutter week.........Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
