Hypno's kick up the backside debt diary....

Thanks (again!) guys. Well, I saw three clients this morning, so that was a bit of good, and very welcome, money coming in. Then I met a friend at the ski shop because she wanted help buying new ski boots - I deliberately left all my methods of payment at home so I couldn't be tempted. Just as well because when we were there, DS announced he will need new ski boots soon and they are £180  In my new organised budgetting notebook (!) I have been totting up the amount we need to put away each month to cover their UK skiing - it comes to over £200 a month, and that is without the cost of lessons and weekly training, because we get that in return for working at the ski club! So, again, we have been bumbling through, but in the future, I am going to try and put away £200 a month to cover some of these costs!
I am about to do a similar budget for the cars/bike so we don't get that "!!!!!! the car tax is due this month" feeling next year!

Yes, ATB, in a former life, I worked in the very exciting area of Trusts and Estates Taxation.........hmm, wonder why I moved on!
Going back to funding the skiing, I have just opened a new e-savings account online and when I start my one day a week job, I am going to get the salary paid directly in there, and that will be a skiing fund!
See - I knew these diaries/notebooks would produce the goods to get me organised!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I may have to PM you for some survival strategies at some point - am just starting! Skiing fund sounds like a great idea, that way it won't seem such a shock when new items are needed xMFW

good idea Racer, I hadn't thought about the post office - I thought they had stopped those sorts of savings schemes.
I will definately go and investigate.

Evening hypno and all,
Good luck for thursday....I'm sure you will get it!!!....I have to agree proper budgets are scary...I've just done mine...and opened all the accounts....I too have bought an academic diary(£1 in the poundshop...bargain)..didn't even know there was such a thing as an academic diary!!!
This being organised is quite scary isn't it?...glad you worked out the skiing costs and you can be prepared.Have a good evening..0 -
Scary? Terrifying more likely!! I think it is tougher doing it this far in the DFW journey than the initial "OMG do we really owe that much" lightbulb moment!
I am SO glad you managed to get a diary today - I thought I was going slightly mad earlier in the week when the idea dawned on me - now I know that all us DFWs are just as mad!!
I hope you have a good evening too - we have just watched "little women" and DD had a bit of a weep, so a nice cuddlly moment on the sofa was required. Now we are awaiting X factor for a bit more of a laugh! OH still at work, then off on his volunteer "job" until tomorrow morning.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I know what you mean, Taxi, my weekly amount varies hugely too, and some months we really do fly by the seat of our pants!
I have to do some ironing tonight while I watch telly. Why do I have to do ironing? Because my diary says so :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
