Morning all - well the birthday/new flat hamper is fab - the children have decorated it and we are really pleased.
The carrot muffins are a success too - so much so I don't want to take them with us!! I have taken 6 aside and put them in the freezer, but the rest are boxed up ready to go. Will def be making them again!
I have just accepted a fab mystery shop for the summer - a visit to a National Trust place that I can do in our "holiday" week at home!! Children and partners are allowed to accompany, so basically I am getting mileage and entrance paid for a free day out :j We will take a picnic and hope the sun shines for us.
Finally did a couple of tiny matched bets again yesterday - about £10 up - every little helps!!
Today we are out for the day, but Mum is driving, so I will pay either for coffees on the way or for petrol, but I am so glad I don't have to drive myself. I hope the sun shines for everyone xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. The hamper sounds great and so does the mystery shop - well done!

Brilliant news about the mystery shop. Have you decided if you're going to cadbury world during your holiday week? Have a great day out xxJanuary budget

Thanks guys! Would like to go to Cadbury world, but if I can do cheaper things then that would be good too in the current financial climate!
Just updated my snowball & signature and have recouped the debt increase that the laptop incurred, so my debt is slowly (!!) going down again. I am really hoping to have that £10,000 paid off by the end of next month - was hoping for August, but I do need to be realistic.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Excellent news on the mystery shop. Sounds like things are on the up for you again!
The carrot muffins sound yummy!0 -
Morning Hypno. I'm so glad your debt total is going in the right direction - well done recovering from the Laptop emergency so quickly. £10,000 in less than a year is excellent, I wish I could pay mine so fast.
Hope you have a good day out today. I'm settling down for a day at the computer, which seems criminal on such a beautiful day.
But we had a lovely day out yesterday, including a boat trip along the Wey and Arun canal (birthday treat for my mum paid for by my dad, so a freebie for us). It was heartbreaking to see Foot & Mouth warning notices and buckets of disinfectant at every field gate.
Bye for now - have to dash as I've trained my kids to berate me every time they see me on MSE!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hi there! Glad the muffins went so well - and I'm glad I'm not the only one stuck to the computer today; not only am I now on the computer, I haven't been online before because *all* *morning* I've been using my digital camera to copy a DVD that won't copy any other way.... I'll leave you to imagine why, rather than stating the obvious. But now I need my mse fix!
Will have to go out tho - too much in town not to, if you see what I mean.
Anyway, the hamper sounds good, hypno, and you've got a great mystery shop there, well done you. Hope you enjoy today too.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Carrot muffins? Yum!
Just briefly returning to the topic of Belgium....Ghent (locally spelled as Gent) is a really sweet place with many cathedrals, pretty canal with cafes & pubs along side it, good shopping - and it's only half an hour up the train track from Bruges but much less pricey! I've been there quite a few times and thoroughly recommend it for a quick break. Easy to navigate on foot too.
I hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather! I am out later...can't face going out quite yet, it's baking out there and I don't fancy sunburn!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
