Hypno's kick up the backside debt diary....

Thanks for reminding me of the original £10k target, I had forgotten about that one.
Well, the ups and downs continued today - we have in our diary and have had all year that we are going on holiday to Devon in 2 weeks. Rang up our friends whose annexe we are renting and they have us in a week earlier!!! And they cannot change the date as the rent it out all summer, and we cannot change our date due to work commitments etc.
So, we could go to Devon but it will cost a lot more to rent somewhere else at this short notice, although there is a caravan park nearby but it is way more than we were originally spending.
Or we don't go anywhere, which currently looks like the option due to funds (or lack of them).
Oh well.....we can do a "home holiday" instead. Would be the sensible option really.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
hmmm know the one re the holiday. you could aways have a "week out" instead, where you went somewhere different every day, barham zoo, sea palling for a picnic, The deer park and lots of lovely cheap or get in free places. Or how about camping? would be a hoot!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0

I really can't see me camping with my back etc the way it is at the moment!!
We will just have to brush down the barbecue, eat fish and chips on the seafront, and hope that the weather stays dry! Perhaps we can do a midweek car boot sale to try and boost funds at the same time.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. no, I don't think a boot fair is very high up on the list of things to be doing in our week off either :rotfl:
We are having a good old rummage for vouchers and will manage to have a good week regardless.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I thought we could see if we could get cheap train tickets to London - they do £6 each way sometimes, and go down and do the old tourist thing. Also, even though it is on our doorstep, we don't go up to the North Norfolk coast so I think it would give us a good reason to go and explore that part of the world.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi hypno - what a bummer about the Devon dates! It doesn't seem to have affected you, actually, you sound quite okay with a home holiday, or aren't you really?
My day in London - at the National Archives in Kew - went really well. No divorce! My relation is the respondent so her daughter, as she always said, is a !!!!!!! She was presented at court tho, and we think this is why a Lady somebody or other was paid to present her. The mother of this girl, the one who was the respondent, is part of my Irish roots - the family only got out of Ireland when the 1840s famine was almost over, I think the drive to be safe must have been very intense, it drove my immediate ancestor in all sorts of ways, some of them very good. His life would make a great novel, actually. And we were 20 years out on the respondent's birth date - Annie, her name was Annie! - so some good detective work went on!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
