Glad to hear you and your nan are well! Must have been quite shocking.
Surely the insurance company can't do that! You would need to be blamed officially before they can just claim you were at fault. They would really do anything for a quick buck. Makes me so mad
My insurance company were going to charge £65 per month for mine, but when I checked on Confuse.com the same company were offering me £37 for exactly the same deal.
The important thing is that you are okay though!Don't ever be anybody's slogan because you are poetry

Hi Hypno,
Sorry to hear about your accident and hope your aches and pains subside soon.
My partner had an accident a couple of years ago, non-fault but the other driver did not accept liability and we had to do all the photographs, line pictures etc, etc....
We had to renew insurance at extravagant rate the same as you, but we did get a refund once the claim was settled.
Have a chilled day

Thank you - photos were taken at the scene so we are prepared there if need be, but because the lady has admitted liability to the police at the scene and to her insurance company, hopefully everything will run reasonably smoothly and then I can claim back the difference in my new premium from my insurance company. Last year, I wouldn't have thought anything about it, would just have paid it, but of course now I am in full MSE mode, it irritates me something terrible!!!
Nana has phoned me this morning - she is absolutely fine, the strongest out of the lot of us!! Hi Hypno,
Glad to hear you & your nana are OK - as others have said that's the main thing. I HATE car insurance companies - they've got you over a barrel as you've got to have it by law, and typical that it's come at renewal time so you can't get the cashback or the best quote!
Take care of yourself, and don't worry about the MS etc (if the company it's for are going to be awkward cos you were in a car accident I'll go round and tell them off for you!)Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Good lord - that is amazing to know quite how much sharp practice goes on with insurance companies... but I'm glad thats the worst consequence, if you know what I mean. But then, your cash flow is horrible at the best of times, so......... not good. But still glad there's no hospital-level injury. Just take care of yourself today.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks KC. Very tired right now just due to an uncomfortable night's sleep. Need to get up and do something but not inclined!!

IIRC after this is all sorted, you don't have to stay with your existing insurance company for the remainder of the year. You can search around for the best bargain;Quidco & etc and take up the best price and cash in your existing policy (IF it is not better!), they will pro-rata what they repay.
I think the full details of this are on the main site. It was a suggestion to save money, even if your renewal date was a long way away. Good luck anyway, I hope it is sorted really quickly.0 -
Hi Hypno
