You don't need much info for the tax thing - just your National Insurance no I think.
Billable hours going really well, thanks. I've had a very productive week so far and feel much better about myself.
Also paid a big chunk off a credit card this morning:jI'm not going to update my signature just yet though as I have the mortgage and various other payments going out next week, and three peak time train fares to London. Even so, I'll be below 40k I reckon. I hope you are not long catching up.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Below 40k would be a fab feeling. I will get there, but not this month!! Just off to ring the tax office.....back soon.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Tax office are too busy to take calls at the moment - just got a recorded message saying please ring another time!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Tried a couple more times to get in touch with the tax office but always just a recorded message, so another thing to do tomorrow.
Also, got a message from the buyer of the stereo - seems to still be rumbling on. He says it was damaged on delivery and cost him £48 to repair which he wants to claim back. The delivery included £100 insurance, so it shouldn't be a problem but he has thrown this back to me and asked me to take it up with DHL.
I am really worried that they say No, and then I will have to fork out the £48. The whole thing has been a disaster, and I cannot believe it is still going on.
On the plus side of life, I have made about £34 this week matched betting - not a lot, but I still have some free bets to use which will total another £50 or so, but I have to wait for money to be re-credited to my account before I can do these. Also a reasonable week clientwise. If every week was like this I would be able to relax a bit. But it isn't. So I can't
OH and the children have just left to go to the dentist......I am sure they will come home with an invoice or two.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Hypno
Are you ringing the number that Tashja posted the other day? I got an answer first time.
How maddening about the stereo buyer. You have had more than your fair share of these trials. Poor you - I hope you have some extra dollops of good luck soon to make up for it.
Don't your children get free dentistry? Mine do, I thought it was a right for all children on the NHS.
I'm off to attend to a mouse with an injured tail.... trying not to begrudge the possible vet's fees if we can't deal with it ourselves!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Yup, rang that number and they said I had to ring our local tax office
Maybe I got a numpty at the other end - will give it another try today.
The children do get free dentistry but OH has to pay - a couple of fillings need replacing so £45 in total - our dentist is not to bad price wise, but it still has to be paid for!
Busy day planned today. Drs at 9.30, then clients until about 2.30. Karate at 6, and skiing at 7-9!
In between I get to do the exciting stuff like grocery shopping, admin and banking. Might even get to pop on MSE for the odd few mins too, if I can steal the laptop away from OH who is at home this week on hols :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Hi Hypno
Well done on your achievements so far :T , see you always seem to bounce back.
It is a pain re MB isn't it having to get money re-credited to carry on with the bets
I rang the tax office and was told to ring my local one who told me I had been ever so efficient and therefore had claimed the tax relief:mad: , ah well at least I was being kind of DFW at the time.
How is your bank claim going on, any more news yet?
Hope your ebay stuff gets sorted as well.0 -
No news yet on the bank claim - will ring again in a couple of weeks to see if they want to settle out of court. If not it will be up to the judge to decide.
Plenty of watchers on the ebay stuff we have on at the moment but no bids yet. Hopefully they will go reasonably well. I still have to sort out the stereo - wish I had never tried to sell it in the first place now. Oh well.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Messed up on matched betting (just shows that it is not completely risk free) - put one bet on and in the split second before I could press the "confim" button for the matched bet, the computer froze and by the time it was sorted it was too late!
Oh well, £6 lost so could have been much worse, but does just go to show that these things can and do happen. Be warned!
Apart from that things are ok today - OH has got an extra shift at his second job as someone has gone sick and I have been asked to teach tomorrow and Sunday. I can do tomorrow but not Sunday which is a shame because had she asked me earlier I could have made arrangements for the children, but as it is I have turned down £100! Oh well, between us we have got a fair bit of extra work in this weekend so that will have to do!
Got a cheque from Envirofone this morning too - not much but still money in the pot. All good!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
