Well done so far on your chocolate challenge! I guess I don't really need to say that I love chocolate too, do I - I suppose you've worked that out for yourself. However, I haven't had any for weeks - it is always the first thing that becomes unappetising to me when I am pregnant, in fact that is probably the reason why after the births of both of my children I was lighter than I was when i fell pregnant - hope that happens again!!

I did read years ago that sniffing vanilla takes away chocolate cravings. When I was doing teacher training I used to wear vanilla perfume and one of the children once sniffed me and said "Oooh, miss, you smell lovely - just like sweets!". Funnily, can't stand the smell now, reminds me too much of the not-very-nice teacher I had on second teacher training practice!

Just got back home after a very long day - the children both did really well, DS got a silver and DD came 5th, then they were both picked for the team event and won that too, so they were very happy - a good weekend for them.

Tea at godparents was nice too - real party food, sandwiches, crisps, jelly and ice-cream!

Still no chocolate - I did find it hard earlier in the day but have managed to get through. I have decided that I am going to put the money saved in a jar for the moment and treat myself to something in due course.

Hope everyone has had a good day, and a belated Happy Father's Day to those to whom it applies x

  • Hi Hypno - Well done on your chocolate free days :T I have never heard about the Vanilla Essence idea - may try some on the kids tomorrow and see if it works

It's hard when you are stopping something because you think about it more so you are doing brilliantly :T

Thanks BAUK. If nothing else, the vanilla essence does smell nice so it is not as if I have to have something rank smeared on my wrists in order to give up the chocolate!

I have done four days, that is the best part of a week......how sad do I sound???!!!

DD's 13th birthday tomorrow, so better get off and wrap some presents :D

I think I need to give up cakes but that's another challenge - not sure if I can be a DFW and in DFW runners club and give up cakes - it's outrageous

BAUK, I like cake too - but chocolate is easier to eat in secret :o

    Hello Hypno

Well I've just eaten two squares of chocolate - I won some in the raffle at the school fete yesterday, along with some jam, biscuits and olive oil. Seemed like the most DFW of all the prizes on offer and I even gave my dad some of the contents for fathers day, having planned to give him nothing, and he seemed pleased.

I haven't managed my planned 3 hours a day work this weekend. Was just settling down to it yesterday when one of the pet mice escaped. We caught her easily but I had to spend the evening weaving wire in between the bars of the cage to make it mouseproof. And this evening I somehow got sucked into watching a video with the kids (Annie - another school fete bargain). Must must must finish off a piece of work before I give up tonight.

Happy birthday to DD tomorrow - hope she has a lovely day

Just popping in briefly......have done a day's invigilating, and now have to take kids to karate before doing birthday dinner and in-laws descending.

DD having a good day, despite the rain, so all well here.

Hope everyone else is having a good day x
