  • I've been reading with interest all comments about saving free DATA credit with Samba..some users have said they leave two,or three of their items, such as ipads, laptops turned on all day, to collect this free credit by watching video adverts...

What about the electricity bills this is creating?
I didn't realise the electric was also free too,or maybe not.

In many situations, those devices would be powered on anyway. So if they can do something a bit useful while heating the planet, why not? :)

Perhaps you or they have misunderstood it a little

Manual action is needed to start each advert and select the next. Even if someone clever can write a script to work in the browser and do this automatically, the number of ads that will be played per day is finite

A separate point. It does seem to be getting popular. There is a promotion to earn double data per ad watched tonight and tomorrow, and the site seems rather slow at the moment, so maybe quite busy, but almost too tedious to bother.

If my PC is on and running then the additional power utilization to view Samba is negligible (and certainly outweighed by the credit amount).

As I say, if my PC is on...
(If it's off its footprint is zero.)
