That's brilliant, allthatmularky, thank you so very much for C&Ping it across, it'll give very valuable help to many others, even in just helping to choose. :grinheart It's certainly not arrogant at all, just tells your story in the way you found it. It's an inspiring post.So very many congratulations on well over 3 whole years FAG-FREE!!!:T:T:TIt's amazing how to many of us the mere thought of quitting is almost unthinkable, terrifying even; thoughts of going the rest our lives without the little white sticks?????!!! However, it CAN be done!
Excellent news, allthatmularky, and many thanks again.

It was only a few lbs
my weight has always varied from 9st4lbs to 9st7lbs so as long as it doesn't go above that I'm happy!
Finished the first day of my new job today and really fancied one! But it has been nice not constantly thinking about the next fag break I'm gonna get! And nice knowing I'm not stinking out the office with my fag smell lol
Hi Sal, sorry, I didn't see you over there!
Given the time you've been stopped smoking for you're doing very well indeed weight wise, even more to praise yourself about.
Well done on the new job too, I'm so pleased it went well, you life is really changing and all for the good.
Re, thoughts of never saying you, Nicky, or Sal will never say you will never smoke again, maybe that's more born out of fear that you won't be able to quit for good than anything else. Either way, just keep right on taking it all one day at a time.
Also, JD said she wrote down all the things she wouldn't be able to do IF she continued to smoke, maybe that's something you could both do, it really does make a huge difference to so many things, for you and loved ones.
Put it this way, are there reasons you wouldn't wish to fully quit for? If so, what are they? Smoke-free living is great that's all I can say.

Hi all,
I stopped smoking 3 months, 2 weeks and 3 days ago and have currently saved over £1000:eek:
I smoked up to 40 a day for nearly 25 years. DH was (and still is) also a heavy smoker. Prior to stopping, there were a few things prompting me. Firstly I noticed how much we were actually spending each month on cigs - more than we used to pay for our mortgage. Also having turned 40, I started looking closer at my lifestyle. I didn't have the energy anymore and would gasp fit to drop after running up a couple of staircases. Yet I was lean and physically in good shape. Probably the turning point was talking to a customer who said how easy it was to stop (she had done it over Christmas:eek:) and that I could get help from the smoking clinic.
Cue a few weeks deliberation and much reading of the giving up smoking thread before I saw the nurse. We'll skim over the next bit but suffice to say that without Allen Carr's stop smoking book and the earlier thread, I would not have been able to stop.
I had my last puff at approximately 10.30 one evening and didn't touch another one since.
My daily cough has gone.
My ISA is filling up:T
I have more time in the day.
My home is smoke-free and so are my clothes.
I am no longer slave to a habit.
My children are happy.
I do hope this has inspired someone out there to stop smoking. I felt that the more time passed, the greater my chances of getting a smoking related illness. I want to breathe, I want to run like the wind without gasping for breath, I want to be free. And I am (well... still working on the running...)Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Hi Money maker! So good to see you and to be reminded of how you started your great journey. Congratulations on so much time gone by, fag-free, already! :T It really makes us all feel good when we get to the X amount of months free.
Thank the Lord for that customer telling you about his/her quit, amazing!! :grinheart
What a terrific amount of cash you've already saved yourself, be so terribly proud of yourself Mm, you've done fantastically!! One day, out of the blue, your DH may be jolted into following your great lead.
Glad you now know where we are.

There you are folks (lurkers) a brilliant and inspiring post, see , it does work - so long as you give it a try first - then pledge not to smoke for a day, then renew the pledge each day thereafter. I wish you ALL well.

2 months today :j
I had a bloke stand next to my desk at work today and he either smokes 100 a day or he'd literally just had a fag and he absolutely stunk! I was sat there nearly gagging! What makes me feel worse is that A) I used to smell like that! andI'm becoming one of those horrid ex-smokers who whinges about everyone elses smoke
Have discovered today that there are 3 of us in my office that have quit recently. Me at 2 months, a lady at 4 months and a bloke at 6 weeks. We all had a really good natter at lunch about what's worked and what hasn't, how we gave up etc. Loved it:beer: Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0 -

Hi Jenny! Lovely to see you, and to know you're 3months fag-free this week!!! Actually you forgot the amount of time and means in the Title bar, but if you wish to change it then go to Edit, then to "Go Advanced" where you can pop it on the title there. :T:T Brilliant work, Jenny, you've really done exceptionally well given the fact that your DH still smokes. However, by the time he reaches the end of the AC book he may well be joining you. I truly do hope so.

Fantastic work for you too, Sal - a whole 2 months yesterday - whoopee!!! :T You too really have done so well and should be sooo proud at how far you've come!!
I was quite thrilled to read about the other former smokers you have in your office, that'll give you all so much more support as none of you will wish to let the team down, superb! :j

WOW JD!!!!! That was some amazing walk, very well done you!:T I bet you wouldn't have been able to have done that 7 plus months ago - not with mucky and almost creaking lungsJust imagine how your lungs are starting to look now after over 7 months free from smoke..and after all that terrific exercise!
That sort of exercise after having quit really made me feel fantastic! Imagine if we'd kept right on puffingit just doesn't bear thinking of. BTW, as much as I used to adore angel cake as a nipper, it's Battenburg that gets to me these days, so much so that we only buy it for high days and holidays.
Keep going with the exercise, JD, you'll have fresh, clean lungs in no time - maybe give yourself a rest before
