Still crunching figures and trying to work out about trying to get a lodger.
Actually more worried if anyone would want to lodge with us and our noisey children and the mad dog, not to mention the state of the house:rotfl:but that's where the money would be going, on finally getting it all sorted from cash not credit:o.

Well got the letter from the secured loan company that i've been waiting for:D.
Current monthly payments, at 11.064% are £416.41, as from December (as previously ranted about:o) the interest rate more than halves to 5.064% and a monthly payment of £360.23:j:j.
The plan at the moment is to keep the payments as is in an attempt to shorten it's life by a few months, will shuffle off now to see what that makes it and i must phone them and see if they can do a calculation on that for me. Ohh good to have positive news to report for once!
Mind you with only £1.95 in the current account that's the only positive news!!Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Thanks Tilly, not sure if it's a case of clutching at straws or more positively water dripping on a stone, it's a step in the right direction! One day i'll be able to focus on the mortgage!!
There was a moneybox prog on Radio 4 this afternoon about mortgages and it was very interesting, especially how little detail people knew about their mortgages and the 66 year old with an interest only one... Will be listening to it again to scare myself some more...Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Hi, I heard that too, and was surprised about the US lady and whether to buy out of one of the mortgages. I was shouting at the radio, check the calculators on MsE, but she didn't hear me :rotfl:

Ohhh annoyed at myself, just popped to the shop on the way back from school to get a bar of something for DD (she's being moved up in one of her subjects) as a reward and i've gone and bought a wispa for myself as well.:mad:
Now i need to reward her with something other than chocolate as it's not ideal but more to the point why am i punishing myself with buying some for me??
That's 60p that could have gone to the secured loan:mad::mad::mad:.
I'm going to have a think and set up a virtual overpayment pot for it and try and focus by doing that here. Ohhh i'm so angry at myself.
The feast / fast days aren't working either, i start off well but crumble in the afternoons, again just need to focus more and heck i've flogged my large sizes on ebay so must not grow out of the smaller sizes:eek:.Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Okay, lets be positive... it's not freezing tonight....managed to resist the urge to stop at the shop for a four finger kitkat...despite having to try and guide five of the stupidist men through the most basic and common sense arguments ever, it's a job and it makes a huge difference to my future financial freedom (don't want to think about when that may actually be, i'll be around 104 i think...).
Opened a cash isa last night, fingers crossed my credit rating from hell won't matter as it's saving not borrowing:p. So have moved DH's little pay rise in as a start. If nothing else it will be somewhere to keep the oil / car repairs money that is tax free but forgive me if i call it a virtual overpayment pot to keep me motivated in my quest against the evils of off piste spending:D.Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs
