    The quick answer is that you can bring a "reasonable amount" of ffod into the park.
    There will be airport style security checks t the entrance so a bottle of water would not be allowed
    but
    you cn take an empty bottle in to fill from drinking fountains.
    Food was VERY expensive for the 'London Prepares' events so if I were you I would take a picnic, a few snacks, an empty water bottle and a fairly full wallet!

    There will be free drinking water inside the Olympic Park - so just need to take empty water bottles.

    Some info here:

    500ml bottle of water – £1.60
    Small glass of wine – £5.20
    Fresh orange juice – £2.80
    Cup of coffee - £2.40
    Hot dog - £5.90
    Pack of pork scratching - £2.50
    Granola yoghurt - £3.80

    According to the current terms and conditions for Olympic ticket holders, items that cannot be taken into venues include:
    • Food, except baby food;
    • Alcohol and soft drinks, except baby milk and medical supplies;
    • Liquid in containers over 100ml;
    • Bottles or glass containers;
    • Flasks and thermoses.

    The Olympic "Food Vision" might also be worth a look:

    There will be a McD's in the park too - I guess their prices will be slightly higher than average but cheaper than the other concessions.

    I don't think there will be any other branded food concessions - McD's have purchased the food monopoly (and Coca-Cola the soft drink monopoly)

    Will empty bottles be allowed? The website says no bottles or glass containers, that could be read no bottles (glass or plastic)

    One post says a reasonable amount and another says none at all except baby food. Has anyone been able to check this out?

    Just remembered i'd read this bit on the Olympics site! The prohibited items documents says it prohibits "excessive amounts of food" so I read that as a reasonable amount is ok as long as you have got only a soft bag which isn't over the 25litre capacity that you can fit under your seat.

    I'm just going to take in an empty plastic water bottle, then you've got nothing to loose if they take it off you. If you have to stand in a queue for 2 hours beforehand, the bottle will be empty by the time you get to the front.
