He has no feedback, it says "I'm new"
he replied to my very grovelly email saying he had disposed of the packaging, and I was cheeky expecting him to return it before the refund, I should send a cheque for the whole refund plus P&P to have the item back. My reply again very grovelly telling him that it is what would happen in any transaction with anyone and also what amazon expect with a link to the page about return and refunds. I have offered to cover the postage for return to me when I get it back. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Stick to your guns on this one, and as back-up email customer services (or phone which would be better) and explain that you are being blackmailed into giving a refund before return.
DO NOT SEND A CHEQUE im sure you are no idiot but that sets alarm bells going for me, I would also stop emailing as you could get dragged into a conflict, if you have made an offer of full refund plus return then he is purely doing this to cause problems.
I really feel for you on this as there is no pleasing some people and your buyer seems to be on a mission to get it all his own way.
can you afford to refund without the book back ? I imagine that is what they are banking on, you giving up and getting so worried by it all you give the money back and tell him to keep the book,
I know i disagree with the rest of the guys on this one and its easy for me to spout advice about what to do when im not in that situation but i cannot stand bullies,

It's pretty simple. You access the order details, this can be done in a number of ways and in the top right of the details page is a 'leave feedback' button. This will then leave feedback for the buyer. It is NOT the same as using 'respond' on your feedback page as this only allows you to leave a response to feedback on your own feedback page. Many sellers do not realise this, as can be seen by sellers putting comments on all their feedbacks.
The easiest way to leave feedback is to log in, go to your feedback page, there should then be an order number showing next to each feedback, if you then click on the order number you will see the order details with a leave feedback button. Although a buyer can easily remove feedback, a seller is not able to remove feedback once left for a seller.
The value of leaving buyers feedback is debatable, as it's unlikely you will check their feedback before sending an item, but it at least gives sellers an opportunity to make other sellers aware of problem buyers. Also by leaving feedback for transactions that have gone well, you can assure other sellers that the buyer has been trouble free in the past, or has been awkward or unreasonable. Most buyers have no idea they can be left feedback, and even then the feedback left for a buyer does not count towards seller feedback.
Checking buyer feedback is not as straight forward either as the first screen you encounter when checking will always say no feedback unless they have feedback as a seller. This is the seller feedback page. You then have to click 'see all feedback' to see if they have received feedback as a buyer. The link I gave earlier does a walk through of all the steps to getting to see buyer feedback, with pictures too.Do You Twitter?

So am I, but I know that amazon won't be as the customer is correct under an a-z claim that the item was materially different. Many buyers do list items that are materially different and get away with it most of the time. The problems are greater when it is a different edition of a text book. As it is materially different amazon will not insist the buyer has to return it and will refund them from your funds.
If you do stick to your guns on this it's likely that a negative will be the result as well as loss of book and payment for it. Though I do agree the buyer is being totally unreasonable, and appears to have a great deal of knowledge of this matter, which does seem suspicious.Do You Twitter?

I've not heard anything since my last email, but I may give CS a ring, as I'm expecting he will leave a neg. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0

Hmmmm - well I actually have not long stared doing both - and yesterday I had a record 4 feedbacks in a day which is most unusual ( unless it coincides with Amazon bulk reminding) Even so it was very nice! and at least two of the books were only sold last week!
My reasoning - maybe faulty - was that if folks took the trouble to look at mine they'd see that I do value customer service and take the time to thank good customers. I leave them feedback too to help other sellers. Overkill maybe - but it doesn't do any harm even if it doesn't do any good - and if it helps sales just one iota then I am all for it.
(I need to sell as many as I can before I move - have decided that it will be worth taking them with even if I only ever sell a quarter of what I have listed.)0 -
AT - I need your help, I've been made to feel like a crazy person today in 2 different post offices.
Please tell me, I am sure it was you who said that you can buy extra insurance to cover pricey books but that it was cheaper than special delivery, I think you said it was like 60p more and covered you about to £100 or so, and it's not recorded or special delivery, what is it? I asked for this in 2 post offices today and they all said I was making it up!! Also I know I have bought it before in the past but I don't remember what it's called. Am I crazy or did I dream this?
Thanks
