    .............. £17,650 would do!

    Something particular in mind?

Bear in mind you will have to put in lots of hours, it is hard work, but if you are working for yourself it doesn't seem to matter.

I have a full time job so can't do bookselling full time, but there are others on the Amazon discussion board who work hard and reap the rewards.

Good luck, do let us know how you get on, we love to hear about everyone's success stories - it spurs us on.

    Hello again all,
I've been debating for a while whether to buy a load of books off priority.
Out of interest, how many of these books are actually sell-able? For example, how many out of th 30ish in a box are actually good sellers etc? Also what are the condition of the books?
    Cheers!

EDIT - how do i get to the amazon forums!?

    Yet again, thank you!

EDIT - am i REALLY stupid? All it shows for me is threads started by "seller announcements". Am i right in thinking, there is a public forum, like this?

    thanks FFM

might be worth a look at then.

    I don't need £20K.............. £17,650 would do!

A word of warning, if you do decide to 'go for it', don't forget to register with the Inland Revenue as soon as you start. There is a hefty fine if you don't register within a certain time frame (can't remember if it is £100 or £200, or how soon).

Just spotted the fig in your sig - now I get it.

Sorry, i've just copied the link from my browser. You find it on the left hand side of your seller account page, quite close to the top of the page. The seller connection is the most popular page.

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can get a reasonable priced hand held scanner for as I have loads of books , however £75 is a little on the pricey side.
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi Ginga

I'm no scanner expert, I bought the one in the first post for £75 and have been very happy with it. It works when listing on Amazon and Play.com.

I've just done a search on Ebay 'barcode scanner' and a few came up.

This one looks interesting http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-USB-PS2-Barcode-Scanner-Reader-Fast-Delivery-UK_W0QQitemZ260120958744QQihZ016QQcategoryZ14929QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem so does this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-80mm-CCD-Barcode-Scanner-Handheld-Bar-Code-Reader_W0QQitemZ120121381608QQihZ002QQcategoryZ14929QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

But I have no idea if they would be compatible.

Presumably they hope some gullible buyer will fall for their ridiculous prices  They often don't even have the book but if it does sell will buy it from a lower priced seller and sell it on.....

Best just to ignore them, after you have been lisitng for a while you'll see the same old mainly US high price seller coming up time after time.

Good luck with your listings, once you make your first sale you'll be hooked - don't say we didn't warn you :D
