  •   I know, I was so excited!!! it's sad really isn't it.......

but then again, I do have another 50 or 60 odd books to list that came from the same arty professor's estate so I might get another frisson later this afternoon - if not an Easter egg will be punished

Update - the next box of books I listed were around the £20 mark each so I've cheered up a bit, but the Easter egg still got a kicking
  • Okay, I'm sure I've asked this before (am constantly in awe of your turnover, girls) ... WHERE DO YOU GET ALL YOUR BOOKS?!! Or do the regulars of this thread just lay waste to entire charity shops like locusts?
If you think reality makes sense, you're just not paying attention!

For me it's (in order) auctions, boot sales, other sales like school fairs, and then charity shops

Hi folks have been off to the car boot this morning and come home with my booty:rotfl: .

Checking the books out on Amazon about 3 of them seem to be out of print and used copies are going for over £20, however I don't want them hanging around the house for ages, would rather they sold - however is it wise to price them much below the other people selling, say £5 or so.

Any advice please? What do you tend to do?

    Help!

I have just been left negative feedback stating "Item Not sent to my address" .Obviously the person still recieved the book which was sent to the only address I was supplied with. Should I ring Amazon Customer service to try and get this sorted as this is obviously not my fault?

    Thank you!

twobfair I would definitely call Customer services about this tomorrow when they re open. What a dimbat of a buyer..we can only send it to the address we are given after all!

Threedragons..I get the majority of my books from auctions, I rarely do well at car boots. I do visit a couple of charity shops but mine are expensive, often dearer than buying new from WH Smiths  I also have another unique outlet, a sort of private arrangement that I prefer not to say too much around as it's mine while it lasts! I also just tend to look for books, I even found something being sold in a High Street remainder shop at Christmas that I've made a nice profit on..

Soo (who has 2 Lindt bunnies sitting looking at me...less than half price in Tesco this morning when I went to buy milk and obviously a shame to leave them in the store)

Cheers Soo! Two weeks after the order had been delivered she sent me an email asking how to change her address for future orders - Thinking I was Amazon!!

Do you have a specific number I should call and should I ask to speak to a specific department? Are they any good at removing feedback?

As is pointed out in the first posts of this thread, though is worth repeating, by cutting the price so much of an out of print book, you are likely to permanently lower the price of it. Those using autopricing software will price match within hours, if not days, of you undercutting. Best to match the price and describe well, letting the customer choose yours with good feedback and good description. Also, even if other sellers aren't using price matching software, like yourself they may check their prices regularly and lower to match yours anyway.

If you are prepared to take much less for a quick sale ebay would be a better option, remember as it's media it will only cost 10p to list, and it may go for more than the amazon price!
