It's an effort one:
Upload a photo of yourself and tell us why you should win for your chance to win a Home Entertainment System worth £6,000
Don't want to dupe if anyone has posted it yet?
Edit: Searched and couldn't find it, so posted here.0 -
Ive been entering the ITV competitions for past few years and despite never winning (fingers crossed) I've started to question whether it is worth winning a large amount.
If you win say £10k I presume you'd have to notify benefit people but if you used the money to pay off loans, credit card etc and not kept it in your bank account what would the situation be then?0 -

I think it depends.
Benefits tend to be subject to Deprivation of Capital rules so even if you don't have the money anymore, you can be treated as if you do if they think you spent it so that you could claim benefits, if that makes sense?
Not sure what the situation is on loans. I read somewhere that certain loans could be paid off and certain ones could be subject to the DOC rules but I can't remember where I read that.
The not keeping it in your bank account is dodgy ground because you'd still physically have the money, no matter where you kept it. I think it's different if it's held in a child's trust fund though.
