she looks so happy
I am glad she is feeling better x0 -
Txs Katy - her leg that was done 9 weeks ago is fine but the one that was done first not quite and vets could not figure out what is the problem as all Xrays and MRI came back fine, implant did nto move, all fine but she limps/drags the leg and it goes under her sometimes when she walks to the point that she actually fell over
Will probably need to see someone about that leg again - all insurance till OCT (reneval) is now gone though so....
She does not seem to be in pain but that leg is just not right0 -
Great to see Zara out & about GR
You must be so worried about her other leg (I try to keep up to date on the PF thread too) - fingers crossed that as she starts to build up muscle strength in the 2nd leg that it will help and things will get back to normal.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Well, Zara is not all good.
She walks as she did before the both operations, back legs together, limping, bunny hoping etc etc - all signs of hips displasia in a dog that had a double total hip replacement.
Insurance used up till end of October so totally stuck re vet/referral to specialist (will be taking her somewhere else, not to FR) till new insurance pot comes in.
She is on Onsior (1 per day) and tramadol (up to 6 a day).
Looking into getting her a new Biocollar - can not remember where I got her old one, do not want to waste money on fake - can anyone recommend where to get one?
Also, what about biocollar when swimming/getting wet? Does water affect the collar?
Will be also getting her Ester C as looks like we are back to square one - after all what she went through0 -
:(
Cant offer any advice , but hope things improve.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Oh GR, I am so sorry to hear that Zara is not doing well. What did FR have to say at last check up???
I had heard that Bioflow collars were no longer available, not sure if that is just cat's though.0 -
I was told Zara's hips Xrays are fine, implants are fine (last check up) and my description of problems were ignored and I was made feel like an idiot TBH.
Since then, my email asking for advice re hydro/what to do was ignored.
Zara has been discharged from FR a while ago so they are simply not interested.
Problems started between 1 and 2nd op though so my take on it they should have taken on board what I was saying but.. hey..... TV shows about success cases must go on.0 -
No insurance till end October so need to go back to basiscs with collar/ester c etc etc.
Can not remember how much Ester C was I giving her though....

Anyone knows pls?0 -
GR, have you tried the Pedigree Joint Care Chews for dogs?
I've been using them for my Lucy. She's also 40kg like your Zara but she's turned 10 now and starting to struggle with back legs.
Two things have helped her. A poster on here, Sad Bunny, recommended a memory foam cushion for her to lie on. She loves it and it keeps her joints warm at night or while she's resting. And the joint care chews.
She's a lot better now though will probably have to go on medication sooner or later. She has full insurance so no worries about the cost.
Hope Zara improves.0
