Not to worry about butting in or out - I appreciate the concern.

I follow Zara's vet advice so hope all will be well and in just over 5 weeks time she will be as good as new :)

They did tell me to see how she is and if she is still doing so well - possibly let her off for short periods of time even earlier.

Flexi - no difference than normal lead, depends how you use it. I just gave her that little bit extra distance from myself - same lenght/speed of walk just allowing her to snif arround a little bit further from me than on a normal lead.

She is snoring happily now, belly up... silly cow - with one of the cats under her paw of course :)

It is coming up to 10 weeks post of for Zara, will be 10 weeks on Monday the 6th......

She is doing absolutely great... just her other leg got worse now but have to wait till NOvember to have the other leg operated on (insurance,, new "pot of money")

My friend's dog had the op yesterday, she had to pick him up the same day, straiught after the surgery as they would nto allow him stay - bit of issues with Cortez and stratnge people....

Some photos of Cortez and his op story so far here:

OK- exactly 2 weeks ago I was absolutely freaking out and wondering if I made the right decision to put Zara (and myself) through this surgery.....

    This morning though :

It was well worth it to see her running after the ball like that AND walking home without limping on one of her legs.

The other leg will need to be done too, it got worse since the durgery as she was putting all her weight onto the "un-operated on" leg... but...

The new insurance pot of 7k kicks in in November and will be heading to FR soon after.

    My brave little-big girl :)

    Thanks..

Was supposed to pick her up today but my friend could take me yesterday so we went yeasterday. Normally they would have discharged her Wednesday anyway so she had a day extra at FR.

She is crying a bit, just gave her her tablets, she is on Onsior 40g once per day and Therios 750 mg twice per day plus she has the paingkiller patch on her side too.

Cates went in to give her a good snif and there were kisses from the cats and Zara kissing them back so that is settled, cats are being the little nurses here.

the first 6 weeks in a a cage are tought on a dog but.. had to be done...her hips (both) were really bad...
