When my dogs go to stay with friends who have laminate down in the hallway, the friends put cushions down in front of the end wall, so the dogs can play 'chase the ball' slither into the end wall when they can't stop without fear of injury. Apparently the dogs love it !! - they are only small tho' .
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

Just bear in mind that injuries don't have to be caused by the impact of hitting a wall when slipping on a floor - a leg slipping at an awkward angle could pull a muscle, tear a ligament, etc. too.
Mine cope just fine on laminate but I do have two rugs and a runner that they can go on if they wish. They tend to confine playing to the rug in the kitchen or outdoors. Otherwise, a bit of paw wax (or, to be MSE, Vaseline) on the paw pads can provide extra grip.

    Zara is fine on laminate.

What I was referring to earlier was the rain outside and the slippery surface on the stairs/communal entrance when stepped on to with wet paws.
a leg slipping at an awkward angle could pull a muscle, tear a ligament, etc. too.

That is precisely why Zara only walks around with a sling...for another 4.5 weeks.. sigh...

The patch covering the scar started falling off and Zara suddenly shown some interest which of course resulted in me having to put her lapshade and comfy collars back on - to prevent her licking it. She was not interested so far so was without collars.

Still hanging there but when I tried to pull the last edge off, Zara was not very happy so left it to drop of by itself.

She is walking better, she is bored in the cage so I go inside with her from time to time for a good cuddle....

Roll on Monday when she will be checked over and staples taken out....and then 4 more weeks to go....

OMG no idea how it happened.
Went out for like 15-20 min, came back and opening the front door saw Zara's wet nose trying to push in.....
I must have forgot to lock the cage.....
She looks/walks fine but... this should not have happened...

    (slaps herself over the head)

    :(

    Hope she is ok.....

She must have thought it was Christmas having the run of the whole flat all of a sudden...

  • Awwwww GR the wound's healing fantastically well:T - oops re the cage door  - glad she's doing so well:D

Maisie's come home today :j - she's slept most of the time since she got here :p (DM says her dog's done the same:rotfl:) but has managed to chase both the cats :(

Big cat = partly his fault as he wandered past in the garden & she stayed put :T but he then sat down for ages instead of going into the field at the back and it eventually got too much temptation for her!

Wee cat = wandered into lounge when Maisie was snoring on the sofa ;) but she woke up and wee cat ran (M stayed put:T), then she came into the kitchen & had her dinner on the dresser while M was having her dinner :T (see making progress here!:)) but then got a fright & ran ...... and so did M:eek:

Still ..... signs of progress so hopefully they'll all settle down soon:cool:
