Unfortunately, all my book tokens have gone, even the last few which at times I thought were on elastic - I have successfully used 25.

I used vouchers today with no probs at all - saving loads, however, if I had gone to the cashier to the left or to the right I think it would have been a different story

Sad day today in tescos - went in with my friend just to get a few bits (didnt go mad) and dont have many vouchers anyway. Found a friendly face on tills (girl who I know) when it was my turn to be served another checkout girl appeared from supervisors desk and took over till. Friendly checkout girl said be careful they are watching you, been watching you on cctv (I only use vouchers - never stole anything!!). Went to pay and got told she could only take one voucher (that was a 50 point voucher - not even money off!!) said that one wasnt for money off - but she would not budge. She said she had been told she could only take one voucher.

The thing is I was buying toiletries and was going to use their own vouchers - but she still said no even though I was buying the items.

Should I ring customer services and say they would not take their own vouchers even though I was buying the items. How do I stand and what is their policy on vouchers. As I am getting so confused. As far as I conserned I have not done anything wrong - have not stole or anything like that, but they make you feel like a criminal.

    Hiya nettsey,

Sorry you were made to feel like a criminal, its just tescos clamping down, they will start taking them again in a while - mine is a bit like that. Surely they should accept their own vouchers especially if you have spent the correct amount & bought the products though.

I dont like contacting CS as it draws attention to what vouchers I have been using. If it was me I would return the toiletries & get my money back.

Maybe try another tesco if possible when buying your toiletries.

Hope you feel better soon & dont take it to heart

I had a similar experience today when buying more handwashes. Whereas before I've been lucky and had them free by using several QK and £2off£8 vouchers, today SA would only take 1 of each voucher when I had bought 10 handwashes! Asked nicely if he could not try a few more as I had spent the required amount. He took 3 more vouchers, but looking at my receipt, only scanned 2 more, never scanned the second £2  . Am well peeved and will shop at diff store rest of this week as even the regular SAs are refusing all coupons this week. Also noticed my reduced veg went thru at full price but don't want to cause a fuss at CS for 30p.

I guess you win some you lose some and tomorrow is another coupon opportunity :D .

i overheard checkout staff talking at Macclesfield theyve just put in new security cameras overlooking all tills.Theirs a desk for security guard to stand at entrance on.Ive noticed these in Stockport and Handforth Dean also. They look like a black half ball in ceiling apparently according to staff they can home straight onto tills and do if staff are idle for a set period doing nothing as well.
    Big Brother is watching.

Re milk I bought mine from farm foods 2 x 4pints for £1.70 :-) was worth the trip away from Mr.Ts to pick up a few bargains in a neighbouiring town.I will return to shopping around for best deals if coupon usage stops.Morrisons seem quite good for offers and lidls meat was excellent price last week.
  • Indeed big brother is watching, the trouble is being a voucher user and knowing the "combining" that can be done it is easy to just hand over a couple of vouchers and get the freebies.

Of course, if their tills were set to only allow a certain percentage or one type of a toiletry voucher it would be alot easier for them to control. But they don't because the chances are that when we are couponing we are also buying other items and money is still going in the till.

My one and only book voucher was refused today. Was told hadnt met minimum spend and yes the nice young lad scanned it,so i'm wondering if perhaps they are starting to program things in for more popular used coupons to stop us

I went to Tesco on Friday for a few bits - bill came to £24.xx I asked young checkout assistant how many vouchers I could use - she said "10% of shopping, ummm that's £8". So I gave her £8 worth of coupons and walked out very happy!

Maybe they should try giving their checkout assistants basic maths lessons?!?!

All the assistants at my local branch have had a letter saying one coupon per product if you buy it(no combining of H and B or quit kit) and one per shop if you havn't bought it.
The ideal homes show is a great place to stock up on coupons.Coupon books worth around £4.60 are given out at entrances to Earls Court 1 and 2 and at the top of the escalator that goes up from main entrance hall.Loads of people dump these around the hall so I had a good wombling session and came out with 35 books. You also get a free Daily Mail which most people also dump so if you go on a day like today when there is a good coupon then you are quids in.Having looked at the exhibitors list for vitality show that also looks like a good bet for coupons and freebies.
