I have also been tescoing today, further affield after completing a mystery shopping job at the end of the job, I had to reveal I was a mystery shopper, poor chap looked stunned and I think he was wondering whether it was an april fools joke. (He knew it wasn't when I handed him a letter confirming it)
Anyway, I managed to bag some new quits, new h&b vouchers and saved £20 off my shopping using vouchers. He also gave me 50 school vouchers even though I hadn't spent that amount. It can be just a case of picking the right chap or chapess

oh gosh, please don't do this, please don't treat mr. t as if they are stupid, if mr. t is stupid, they won't be the no.1. there are many newbies like myself who just begin to learn and save, we really don't want any policies to be changed.0 -

no its not selfish. My tescos policy is one coupon per item and thats what i do. I very often pay not alot for my shopping. Other tescos are different, alot dont like coupons, but some do! it all depends on the shop. Please dont be calling other users of coupons selfish when they are entitled to use, as tesco accepted them. Lets all be nice to one another as i dont like to see fights start  like other people have said before if your coupons arent accepted one week just put them back in your pocket and use the next.
Persoanlly i have only ever had one rejection in about a year, but thats because i stick to one tesco and one cashier. I dont bother with the other large one as thier policy is NO coupons.

^ You are wrong.
IT IS SELFISH to people to go pver the top and abuse the coupon principle.
This will see EVERYONE suffering. Doing something for yourself in the knowledge that others may suffer is SELFISH!!!0 -

I think there is a world of difference in what coupons are being used, I didn't think the post was selfish. If someone uses Tesco's own coupons, then these have already been accounted for within the marketing section that issued them. Bear in mind that MOST shoppers don't use coupons like we do, so the store's overall profit from H&B items will easily cover the H&B coupons accepted from a few customers like us.
If the customer pays completely in redeemable, genuine in-date manufacturers' coupons this is also not a problem IMHO, if the SA has accepted them. Tesco gets more back from the manufacturer for these than face-value so they do not lose out, and the manufacturers' marketing Dept has already costed for their use (in the non-MSE world, most coupons get thrown away so the percentage actually used is low).
The post I thought was out of order was the person a couple of months ago who thought it was OK to offer a load of Somerfield vouchers at Tesco (from memory it was over £100 - worth!).
That's the only warning I would give, PLEASE don't offer a load of Somerfield/Asda/Sainsburys coupons from their magazines, Tesco cannot redeem these and this behaviour could affect coupon-acceptance. And please don't anyone say 'but my Tesco has a sign outside saying it accepts Sainsbury's vouchers'...they mean the '£x off £xx spend' ones, not the magazine ones (have a close look at the banner).
Coupon-mad-rant over! :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
