Thank you all I was pretty pleased with myself when I worked it out. I also did an online valuation of my house and think we may just have broken the surplus barrier there too. Not that we're planning to sell but it still makes me feel good.

Has been a tight month what with DF welching on the car tax offer but have managed. At the mo I may end up slightly OD at the end of the month but trying to keep it as low as possible. Going to Mr T in a mo to do small food shop but don't need much as away on Wed and Thurs so probably best to do just enough to cover me until then.

OH is still bleating about our winter sun holiday but in the end I told him to let it go. TBH if he continues to do 2+ O/T shifts a week he'll be able to do it but I'm not encouraging him. He'll get £200+ for this morning's shift and has at least 2 booked in for next week too, which is another £200+. I wish I got paid O/T too but I get time off in lieu instead.

Oh well off to reply to some other posts

    :rotfl:

No lottery win for me either so I'll have to keep doing what I'm doing being as frugal as possible to get it down before I really look like my earlier picture.

I'd love to be able to retire in 10 years so that I'm around more when DGD1 is going through the hormonal carp, just as extra support for her and her DM and DF. I can only do that if we have cleared all this debt, including the mortgage, as my pension will be pretty low.

We'd still have the stupid secured loan to pay but hopefully as things improve we can throw a bit extra at that too.

It's funny how different me and OH are though as his idea of retiring is jetting off to sunnier climes on a regular basis, whilst mine is to be around more for DGDs and their DM and DF.

So plan a - continue as I am, keeping on top of things and hoping predators accept these long term no interest low payments. :D Once wedding and Oz flights are sorted out, my next saving pot is for f&f in the future but that's a way off yet as at this rate flights are likely to be 2014 not 2013 :(

plan b - IVA if predators start welching on the deals. Would actually save me a considerable amount but worried that they'll analyse my budget too much and refuse to accept this level of payments. Also may insist on us taking out further secured loan or raising finance some other way at the end of the 5 years and then it wouldn't save us anything and would extend things back to the 10 years that I'm looking at right now, plus puts house at risk if can't do it.

plan c - bring in some extra money by finding part-time job for weekends and Mondays. As I already work long hours Tuesday to Friday I really don't want to do this as reason I do those long hours is so I can take Mondays off to have DGDs. -

    plan d - win the lottery :T

I know which I'd prefer but hoping as plan a is the most positive without being pie in the sky, am happy to keep to that.

Don't you just love it when you type a post and the stupid computer deletes it for you - argh!!!!!

Anyway, in a nutshell, Mr T was slightly more expensive than I planned at £45 rather than £30ish. Possibly because OH came as well and threw some bits in. I stuck to my list other than that mind you.

He took us for coffee to compensate. Had a nice quiet afternoon, watching the tennis and knitting a jumper for DGD1.

I've tried to write a post about the dress I'm wearing to my DS wedding 3 times now and my silly pc keeps deleting it, so I've given up now.

Off to pick up their wedding rings and then to play with DGD2 before picking up DGD1 from school.

Talk later, when I may get around to telling you all about my dress.

Well I have had a lovely day today.

Got up this morning and decided to try on the dress I want to wear to DS wedding. Its brand new with tags and worth £200+ but I've never worn it as the wedding I bought it for 2 years ago got cancelled.

It has never fitted me perfectly and I've always had to have help getting it done up and undone. Today, I stepped into it, first time ever, I usually put it on over my head, and pulled the zip up most of the way without a struggle. I managed to get it done up all the way with a little effort. It looks really nice on and that was without support underwear too. I am so pleased and know that although it would look even better if I lose some more weight, I could get away with wearing it now.

I now have a choice of 3 really nice dresses, that fit well, but all will look even better with up to another stone off. Any more than that and OH has said he'll buy me a new dress.

So after doing that, I went to collect DS, DDIL2B and DGD2 to go and buy their wedding rings. They are really nice too.

We then managed to find 5 hurricane lamps to do the wedding centre pieces for £2.50 a lamp. Real bargain and really nice and exactly what they'd envisioned.

We decided to go to H^rvester for food as they do early bird menu for £5 a head. We haven't been out for food for ages. The wait was ages and the potatoes and peas were cold so when we complained they gave us the whole meal and drinks for free. We were quite shocked at this as the meal wasn't that bad but they'd had major issues in the restaurant today and apologised for keeping a family with a very young child waiting so long.

We went to get DGD1 from school, which she loved and then having dropped DM and DF home, we went to Granny's house to play. We had a really nice evening, even though somehow we managed to lose the dummy somewhere and I took 2 tired little girls home at 7, after they had trashed my living room.

Came home, made tea for me for tomorrow night and for OH lunch as he's working double shift. Surprised he accepted the offer and no doubt he'll make some comment on it but I don't care. I had another bowl of red pepper/tomato soup with crusty bread and pukka detox tea, that's made with fennel, aniseed and something or other. I'm surprised how nice this was.

I've now tidied up and still cannot find the dummy! Just about to watch Hell's Kitchen and then off to bed for an early night. Tired but happy.

Hope you've all had a good day. My day has finished as a NSD too which is good and completely unplanned.
