If you only knew how pleased that would make my DD, she is so proud of me finally taking charge over my own meals and cooking again. I used to cook a lot when my DC and I lived alone but once we moved in with OH, 17 years ago, stopped enjoying it because he is so controlling in the kitchen.

He's turned his nose up at today's soup, but I don't care because that'll mean it'll last me longer. It is very green but tastes yummy and no veg thrown in the compost bin because its gone squidgy.

and I am feeling much better today thank you both x

    Glad you're feeling better granny!

Your soup sounds lovely, I've always got carrots [funny that :D] and have some spinach, I think I'll make a batch. I actually made celery and cream fraiche soup today, the celery was looking a bit sorry for itself :o It was lovely, I shared it with the Captain at lunchtime. Also made some individual rhubarb crumbles as I was given some rhubarb. Had to stick all but one in the freezer pretty darn quick so I didn't eat the lot and ruin my diet!

You sound much better today Granny. Are you sleeping better?

Must have been the weekend for cooking, cooked up 2 large cottage pies with reduced mince :D and two large stews. Plan to freeze and have for dinners and teas. Those are about the only things I can actually cook though other than lentil soup and my fave of beans on toast :rotfl:

OO rhubarb crumble how lovely, haven't had that in years as OH doesn't like it.

Saw on your diary you've treated yourself to cherries and strawberries. That was my dessert tonight and the rest of the strawberries are going in my smoothie with some pineapple in the morning. All taken from reduced shelf in Mr T yesterday and paid for by OH.

Had my 2nd NSD in a row this month today as I ended up staying in with DGD2 for company most of the day.

DS, DDIL2B and DGD2 came over at 10am so they could print out their wedding invites.

DGD2 was in a bad mood as she has a cold again, mostly down to her teething. She really didn't know what she wanted to do with herself. She was better when she couldn't see her mum and happy to sit with me then.

I made her toast and she perked up a bit, poor mite was hungry most of the day today.

OH didn't work a double shift after all and got home at 2ish. Then DS and DDIL2B left shortly after. DGD2 had a banana and then started grumbling again, until she climbed on my lap and fell to sleep.

Had to send OH to fetch DGD1 as I didn't want to wake her and she'd have been so upset if she'd woken up to just OH. He grumbled a bit but did go to fetch her in the end.

They got home and DGD1 woke up DGD2 as she is so loud. They had a cuddle, so cute and then DGD2 started grumbling again. She seemed hungry again so we made fish fingers and mash and after getting her in her low chair, she tucked into it with relish. She had 3 spoons on the go, one for me to put food on and one for her to hold in each hand. She did really well feeding herself.

She was much happier after that and decided to play with OH as long as he kept his distance from her and growled at him when he tried to read his paper.

I took them home at 6.30 and was shattered when I got back. Had scrambled egg, with mushrooms and chicken and a salad for tea. Then cherries, pineapple and strawberries for dessert with a really nice cup of coffee.

Planned to have a bath tonight but was too tired so will have to have quick shower in the morning before work instead. Hoping this week is better than last, although it couldn't really be worse.

    BFN, talk soon Gx2 x
