Just realised my maths was off this morning, its 12 wks to mid March not 16, joys of trying to do mental arithmetic whilst suffering with a headache
Hoping this doesn't stop B from stepping in, was really getting my hopes up that it'd work. Oh well still going to ring them on Friday
quietish weekend, with OH working all day yesterday and pm today. Granny day tomorrow
Night all, really should try to get some sleep now

Hang on Granny; you've got an appointment slip for a date in March which clashes with an already-booked holiday? Presumably when you 'phoned to inform the secretary, you were then just offered the option of a [possible] earlier cancellation?
..If so, call again. Explain once more, and ask for another proper appointment avoiding the holiday; time has passed so the next slot you're given is almost certain to be later than March..
 Just had a look at the current B* bumf; atm not sure where I remember sixteen weeks from, but this is what it says:
The patient needs to give the Society information on what the local NHS provision is and if it is acceptable to them. (For example if the waiting list is excessively long for the service required then the Society will look to provide this service).
Definition of "excessively long" appears to rest with patient and GP (GP makes referral once B* has given the go-ahead).
Perhaps it would depend on the problem? If cancer is suspected, three weeks' delay is over the NHS guidelines, whereas one might expect to wait much longer for a less critical illness to be treated.0 -
Thank you Robin you are an absolute darling I will ring his secretary later today. I never actually had a letter for March, nor did I say at the time she told me I was provisionally booked in for that date that it didn't suit. Since seeing the consultant the last time it was suggested that I may wish to be placed on the cancellation list as op not life critical but life enhancing. I've got an appointment with my GP on Friday booked already so is useful to know these facts xTargets

Hello Piq, they are gorgeous as usual, not that I'm biased or anything :A
DGS is such a lovely little chap He's been trying to sit up since he was 3 months old and now at just over 5 months, manages to sit unaided for periods of time. He's quite a handful and most definitely a boy His lovely face is delightful when he spots me and he jigs about in desperation to get at me. He doesn't like OH yet though
DGD1 announced quite confidently and without a care in the world that she and DGD2 are both on Santa's naughty list, to DMIL of all people
They were both full of it tonight bickering
DGD2 was in a strop most of the day and as she is so little it just makes me giggle. When we went to get DGD1 from school, she was stomping in front of me, with her shoulders rigid, arms flying and such a cross look on her face. All because I wouldn't let her spend time putting on her sun glasses - we were already late as she and OH had a fight over her trainers
Every time one of us did something she didn't approve of she'd scowl like a demon child and the next minute she was back to her normal angelic self. Funny little madam, great day though, I've laughed a lot today
DGD1 is extremely busy ATM so I'm not seeing enough of her really. We've planned a Granny and DGD1 day next week, when her diary can fit me in. She's growing up so fast, I can't believe she's 7 in January
Anyway off to bed now, working from home tomorrow as cold still causing me major problems. Only 3 short days left in the office this year and 3 long and 2 half days at home :T
Speak soon

What a funny day today. It started off with me waking feeling slightly more human than I have for a while.
Then I logged on to work pc and received a worrying message about the future of my work place. Job is safe, for now anyway, but likely to be further away with no compensation for extra travel time and only 3 years compensation for extra travel cost. Oh well worrying won't change anything and who knows what is around the corner.
Wrapped DDIL and DS presents plus sorted out DS birthday presents for mid Jan. Have bought more than planned but happy with purchases. Also have DGD1 birthday presents and cards sorted for early Jan.
Did some sorely needed ironing, just haven't felt up to it lately and then discovered more lurking in spare room. I clearly need a clothes sort out in the new year.
Did task for colleague, who was struggling under the weight of his in-tray. Feel very virtuous about that.Did very little of my own work though
, no worries though as pretty up to date atm.
unravelled cardi started for DGD2 as was coming out big enough for DGD1 but in wrong wool. She's got purple sparkly wool for her Christmas jumper, whereas DGD2 has bright pink - their preferred colours
Tonight I'm aching pretty much every where, so I've clearly done too much. Luckily I'm working from home again tomorrow and then short day in office Thurs.
plan of attack for tomorrow is finish the ironing and pack OHs presents.
Posted DMs card yesterday and forgot to put her small gift in with it. How annoying, will have to post it separately now
Also finally got around to posting DDs presents, £27  She's so worth it though :A
OH and I had further £5 each for M0rrisons via Su★ +, didn't let on to OH about mine this time though. May not need it and if not he can have it but as there is no minimum spend or date on it, may keep it for when I need something
Glad I've finished my shopping, as definitely not enough money left for the month. All bills are paid though and OH covers food shop, (I sort gifts for family), shared cost of gifts for DGC this year. Just have 2 fairly low cost lunches and a quiet drink with friend to pay for. Plus may take DGD1 for afternoon tea next week
Off to bed now

Reason for yesterday's aches and pains and not being able to sleep! Yet another uti - luckily after the last bout I bought cranberry juice in ready. So that will be my drink of choice today. Not seen OH yet this morning, have a feeling he'll be less than impressed that something else wrong. Infections just hanging around in my body in one form or another. Have Dr's appointment on Fri and going to have serious talk with him about health concerns. All linked to long awaited surgery which is why I want it done sooner than March.
Had bad night last night, still awake at 3am, running for loo at 5 and then on off for next 2 hours. Been lying in bed, reading diaries but really need to stir stumps now and get to work. Should do a long day really but may only manage short if kidney pain continues

Hugs Granny.. this is not good. I really want your present for 2014 to be better health. I am sure the stress over money (and lets be honest, OH at times) makes it worse. Do get on to the consultant. Please.:grouphug:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Thanks Brizzle, got to be honest think that's what we're hoping for too and agree money worries and OH
don't help
Rang consultant earlier, provisional date mid March, stated this wasn't suitable due to hols, made a note on my records and asked if I was still available at short notice. Said yes, any date up to 27th Feb or after 2nd April
Also rang private health scheme, 6mths is up tomorrow so can put in a request then. Need referral from GP - easy and report from consultant which should include operation code - not so easy. Rang consultant's secretary back. Initial comment was we don't do private operations. I explained that that wasn't what I was after and tried to explain what I required. Sadly she was surprised at my request, told me to ask my GP for a copy of the consultant's diagnosis and decision letter and send that to private health care people. She is unable to give me the code, don't know why - google search found it easily enough for me. In the end she did give me her email address in case of queries, so fingers crossed I can forward her the request, when received from health care company, if necessary
If they accept me, aim to operate within 8 weeks Fingers crossed it goes to plan, although the pessimist in me is saying prob not. Would prefer this option anyway as much better standard of care from relevant hospital
In other news, did bit more ironing and wrapped OHs presents. Just DGCs left to wrap now
Short day today after all, I'm tired
Short days next 2 too
