You are all so sweet, thank you for your concern
Rather than phoning in sick, I suggested I work from home for as long as I could. I worked for the morning and then gave in and went to bed at 12, back up and working at 2:30, back to bed at 3:30, having finished work for the day. It definitely helped as I felt much better this morning.
Today I had a bath before I left for work and sloped off at lunch time to meet with friends. I'm not in now until Tuesday, so hopefully I'll have a quiet weekend to recover

Oh dear Mrs Happy, I hope there was nothing untoward keeping you from sleeping, I'll pop over to your diary now and check you're OK. I was in bed but inexplicably struggling to sleep so logged on and flitted around diaries. I fell to sleep, just after 4am and was awake at 7 but then slept fitfully until 9. I'm not doing anything today, except nipping to the post office to return a fleabay parcel and post my dad's birthday card.
DDs Christmas present can wait until Monday, which gives me time to wrap it nicely and think about one more treat

Thanks DFw, I have had a very quiet weekend and so has OH
as I lost my voice. Cold has now, as always happens with me, spread to my chest and I have a very tickley throat. Just hoping I get some sleep tonight, as it's not easy despite being really tired.
I'm determined to have a Granny day tomorrow as I've not seen much of the dears for 3 weeks, they infected and ran, little darlings. OH is off as well so he can help a bit.
Only 3 weeks until Christmas leave or 11 work days, with only 5 of those in the office and 1 in another office. Fingers crossed I make it but if I'm feeling rough I'm staying home.
Hope you've all had a good weekend and enjoyed your advent calendars. I forgot to open mine today so will have double doors tomorrow. It was a half price beauty calendar bought last year and I've resisted the urge to open it and forgotten what is in it so will have even more fun with it.

Hello Granny, :hello:
(((Hugs))) dear friend - do hope you feel a bit brighter after a quiet weekend (literally).
Working from home as much as possible is a great idea for saving energy and avoiding more germs, plus of course you can stop when you have to and bed isn't far away (invaluable!).grannyx2 wrote:Part of the problem is that I have to stop all natural remedies for 2 weeks prior to the operation, so as I can get called at any time, I've had to stop now.
Oh gawd, allopathic doctors say this so often! ..Have you queried exactly why, in your case, this has been demanded?
When push comes to shove, the reason is often 'rules' and/or lack of understanding.. Easier to issue an edict rather than investigate whether there is in fact a conflict.
Is your GP sympathetic? Given the repeated infections, have you had a full blood screen recently?
Had a chuckle about your advent calender.. Solidarity with the kids, eh? Enjoy!0 -
Thanks Robin, they said it was due to blood thinning properties of some of the vits and natural supplements I take. If I was able to hold out until next spring, I could continue with my regime, which certainly helped and stop 2 weeks before the op. However, things are so bad that mentally I need the op done asap. Its a small price to pay to suffer now if it means I'm on the road to recovery by spring instead of still waiting.
I thought by having the flu jab this year, I'd avoid the worst but sadly the flu at the beginning of the year just messed my immune system up. I've had regular blood tests, in an attempt to diagnose but I'm still waiting for the dr to finally work it out. More tests due tomorrow, followed by a Dr's appointment next week.
Only 2.5 wks to Christmas break, not that I'm wishing my life away or anything.
Granny day was lovely yesterday, even in a strop DGD2 is a delight . Little man was his usual happy chappy, glad to see Granny self and DGD1 and I are looking forward to an evening alone on Thursday
off to bed now, as headache from h3ll
