arhhh Never too old I have been reading your blog page and felt so sorry for you re dgd`s and Scotland... However my children live in the North West (well one still in Germany) and their grandparents in Cornwall. Because they built up such a bond from a young age they have an absolutely fantastic relationship with their grandparents (my mum and dad) & regularly visit. My mum has told me she looks on dd as a daughter, which I thought was lovely. The bond will always be there..0

Morning Granny, you do find some ace smilies!
L
Morning Lucielle
Is everything ok, you are up very early. I was awake then too with my sinusitis playing up/ Took some painkillers, used a vicks spray and managed to nod off again.
Hoping it doesn't carry on much longer as I seem to be feeling rougher by the day. ATM my head feels like someone's kicking it from the inside.
I love my little smilie friends, they seem to brighten things up. Doesn't take much :rotfl::rotfl:Targets

Been hectic, here this week had grandchildren around twice for dinner this week, making most of the little amount of time we have left with them.Hope you feel better,
It was nice to be missed:A
and thanks for popping over to blogland.
Im a younger nanny as well. my eldest had his 1st child at the same age i had him.He was born 2 days after my 21st.:D
Yey, you're back. :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
I'd popped over to blog land last week and thought I'd left a message about how tough it must be with your DGC moving away soon but I couldn't find it when I logged back in yesterday. Hope you've had a fantastic time with them x
Pretty much the same age as me when I first became a Granny then and my mum too as it happens. I had a baby at 18, and my son 5 years later. He had a baby at 19. My sister was a nanny at 38 and refused to be called Granny because she thought she was too young. I, on the other hand, well after I'd got over the shock of my baby DS becoming a dad, relished the idea.
Anyway, glad to know you are ok. Have a fantastic time on your break. Look forward to seeing the photos when you get back. I read in your blog that you're going to be pretty busy over the next couple of days so I won't send the search party out.
Not got much planned today but imagine I'll get up at some point :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well maybe once the balls have gone off the tv - may be in for a long wait there though:mad:

How is your DD today Bast?
I know all about these bonds, when my DGD was a baby my DS and his OH wouldn't let me see her as much as I wanted and definitely less than her other GP. I worried that we'd never build up the bond. How wrong was I, she delights in seeing me now and asks to stay every-time I see her. As you all know, she even thinks I should give up work so I can be at hand whenever she wants me. The other day she drew a picture of me and her playing in the rain and it certainly brightened my day. She had so many people to chose from and she picked
As for the baby, from an early age she has waggled her hands at me whenever she sees me and practically launches herself out of her mum's arms to get at me.
It just melts my heart every-time I see them to have such reactions.Sorry Granny I hijacked your thread... Piquant I have been partaking of the german wine far too much I am very naughty with wine.. You hijack away. I love the way these diaries have a life all of their own. Hope you saved some wine for me, for when I'm off the tablets. I can't remember the last time I took so many - I'd make a good Giant baby's rattle at the momentnever_too_old wrote: »thanks, i hope its the same for us.:)
As I said above these bonds develop whatever. As long as you stay in touch regular you'll have no worries. I'd buy some pretty note-cards and make a plan to write to them regularly. My DGD loves getting postcards from me when I go away and sleeps with them under the pillow.
So please don't worry my dear friend, my DD and DM lived miles apart and cherished every moment they spent together.
I'm sure it won't be long before you get that new star, especially if I have anything to do with it. Between us we can do that in a weekend x
