I've spent in Lido & Waitflower today so total now up to £71.44 but cupboards and freezer full. I've made a ginger Parkin from the list on page 1, it's ok but a bit dry so I'll reduce the amount of oats next time or add some milk. It'll be nice and sustaining for teabreaks at work though :) also made some tomato sauce to freeze, it'll be a bit of freezer tetris to get it in :rotfl: I've planned all next weeks meals - I find it a bit of a faff having to plan but I love knowing what I'm going to cook before I get in from work so I can just crack on with it, so I will carry on with the planning :)
Hope everyone has a good weekend - it's sunny here for a change so I've filled the washing line :)

I made the Oaty Shortbread biscuits from the front page today:-

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=13109511&postcount=934

They are delicious, I would highly recommend them.

I agree with the person who posted the recipe....you can cut the sugar right back and they do catch quite quickly around the edges, so check them after 12 minutes!!

Crunchy, oaty and very moreish :D

well the Goks egg fried rice was a success it was really tasty, I should have taken a picture but it was devoured straightaway , i also did a sweet and sour chicken ( jar sauce) to go with it , it was really nice :j

made some PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES from the 1st page, they are really light and moreish , I too used a lot less sugar at least 50% less and they taste gorgeous

think I will try the oaty shortbread biscuits next time

Just looked at the recipe, and I have all the ingredients in my cupboard, so may have a go at some of those as they sound lovely, although I am supposed to be on diet, lol!

Another £13.32 spent in A1d1 today, got some of their own brand pimms and malibu, as we are staying home tonight, but these are not included in GC budget.

Slow cooker has been on today with a beef casserole (DR cubed steak) and half a pack of frozen MrT casserole veg, various herbs and some stock. I have added dumplings nomnomnom. Shame I am going to a friends house for a cheeky curry tho'

We have a big family party tomorrow. My DMum is 70 on Tuesday so we have planned a surprise garden party. It is going to be very wet :( but I'm sure we will have fun under the gazebos!

All drink has come from A!di - shiraz and chardonnay in boxes - hope it's going to be okay - anyone tried it? Carl$berg lager from there too which I know will be fine!

    Spent £17:50 in M today.

Got 2 boxes of the half price persil. That should last me at least 3 months :D

Picked up bagels and bacon for today's lunch (ww products are quite cheap there) and jelly pots for dd's lunch box next week.

    Having pork stir fry tonight.

The morrisons savers stir fry pack is 50p (we use 2 for the 4 of us) and is lovely! We are having that with some dried noodles and reduced pork from asda.
  • Thanks sister cass, made the dough balls in the end, just waiting for the kids to have their baths then I can get them in the oven (the dough balls, not the kids).

Made spag bol from scratch, a cheap meal for 5 of us, prob about £3.50 for everything including the dough balls and there will be a lot leftover I think.

Unfortunately called in at Mr T and spent another £22.87, but did get reduced bread etc, more fruit & veg, and sausages for brunch tomorrow. Called in at the Groggs next door and got 12 fresh baps for £1 which I've frozen for packed lunches. Should need very little top-up shopping this week IF i get some baking done tomorrow. Famous last words...:rotfl:

Oh and £12 on wine from the local shop...:o And £30 from the ATM which I will include in my grocery amount.

    Need to update my sig...
