Have loved my first month doing the GC and have changed completely the way I think about food shopping and almost completely eliminated food waste, this was huge before:eek:
Huge thank you to everyone for the inspiration.Sept GC £2000 -
Oh, boy, I've completely mucked up this month! We had no computer for a couple of weeks :eek::eek: so I've not been on here at all. And I have NO idea how much we've spent on groceries!:o:o:o
So I'm declaring June a wash-out, and will go straight on to July.
Hope everyone's ok - I've read the last couple of pages but can't go back through everything. Sorry to hear about your mum, Meg, it's a very difficult time.
Off to make JJ's herby bread (again) for lunch - it's far too addictive!
Onwards and upwards! CBx0 -
We have a plan from the dr to reintroduce dairy to my youngest. It's only day one and not looking good so far, but would be great if she could have regular milk eventually. Her oatmilk is £1.39 a ltr  and she goes through 3 or 4 a week, since I can't get calcium into her with cheese or yoghurt...
My daughter has oatmilk too, it costs a fortune and we go through loads, can she have soy? as my daughter has soya yogs which have calcium in them too.

Like Chelsea Bun I have slipped up in June, mainly because too much coming and going and my son arriving unexpectedly. I lost track of what I was spending and the same thing will probably happen for the next few months in view of what is going on with my move. I will try and keep disciplined and resume my efforts in my new home, so see you all in the autumn - and keep the faith!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

OH bought a pint of milk and a couple of bottles of coke BOGOF so I'm declaring at £263.77 for my first month. Really pleased as my budget was £275 - think I will reduce to £250 next month! We used to spend £300+ so I am so happy I joined the grocery challenge. Thank you to everyone for your tips and advice and I will see you in JulyPart time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

This morning OH was complaining that we were out of cereal, soya milk and coke - 3 things that he consumes but I never touch. I was running an errand for him which takes me right past A$da. I was trying to work out how to justify not buying his stuff until tomorrow (i.e. July!) when it occurred to me - I've still got £30 in the June budget - no reason why I can't pick them up!
Bought a couple of other bits that we prefer from A$da while I was there, to save having to make a special trip later in the week so I ended up spending just under £40. Previous total was just over £170 so I'm going to declare June at £210 / £200 - very happy with that as I've got some of July's essentials with that money.0
